That blue is so pretty!
I should be taking advantage of the holiday to get some chili on the crockpot before I go to my sister’s for dinner. I saw several bags on eBay last year in the larger version of this small satchel, in this color. I will probably buy one the next time it comes up within my budget. And after I got an oil change on Saturday, I took a quick run through three consignment shops close by. And what does one of them have?? The small Maggie duffle in this shade of blue, in very good condition, with just a tiny hint of fading here or there! It was on sale for 10% off $49.99. If I thought I could have used it I really would have considered it. But that opening is tough for me.

I found that small Maggie impossible to use too. I bought one a month or two ago, tried to use it and couldn't even get my wallet in it. Went straight to ebay.... Love the medium and large duffles though.

I like the Helen's Legacy. The duffle sac is too big for me.
It took me a while to figure out these were not the same bags! I could connsider the Helen, but I like the orientation of my shoulder sac so I woukd lean toward the 9060, I believe, slim duffle. And that Costa Rican leather . . .

Yes, even though the blue color is dreamy, I don't think I could get through a day.

Waaay back, in grad school I did carry this natural colored , croc embossed Unisa bucket bag, that had a magnetic closure. It took me forever to remember the brand. I know I carried that bag for at least a year, and as much as two. I don't remember it being heavy as much as a black hole. Good times.

Do you think that the leather on the bags made in Costa Rica is different? My Lula's legacy was made in Costa Rica and it has the most beautiful, smooth leather.

Not necessarily. I have no complaints about Costa Rican leather. I think it is on a par with US. The best leather I ever had was a Legacy drawstring made in the US in 2001. I think the style also has something to do with it. You're not going to find leather as soft on a Willis because that style is supposed to be more structured.

Oh ok. I was just thinking that maybe Lake Effect was implying that the leather from the Costa Rican bags was exceptionally nice and I was going to agree based on the bag I have.

Here's the newest member of my growing British Tan collection. She just arrived today, in amazing condition, complete with a lucky penny inside, minted in 1989. And yes, it occurred to me that could even be the same year the bag was minted. :happydance:

ETA: Shoulder Sac, #9730

I think I saw this listed, and kept meaning to post the link here so someone could grab it. I'm glad you found it.

fI'd love some opinions about the color of two new bags I've picked up recently. In both cases I already have them in black and I'm sure they're black. The new ones I can't decide if they're navy or perhaps flannel grey? If they're navy they're crazy dark.

First a Baxter, here it is in front of the black one:

And the same with these 2 stewardesses:

I guess what I'm ultimately looking for here is consensus on whether I can actually keep these claiming they are different colors or am I crazy? Okay don't answer the crazy question... this stewardess obviously needs rehab.

Both of the Baxters look blue-ish to me. The colors are too close for my eyes to distinguish, given the limitations of how computer monitors render colors. At the end of the day you might have to just pick which of the two you want to keep based on some other detail, because the colors are "too close to call."

I can see more of a difference between the two Stewardesses. The one on the right does look more gray/black, the one on the left has more of a blue tone.
