Mmmmmm, gorgeous! That's such a fantastic color, especially since back then it was almost impossible to find anything from Coach in any kind of teal or spruce color. And the leather texture - I think the best word to describe the teal color is that it almost glows. All I've ever done with mine is a little Apple conditioner every few years but it never really looks like it needs it. The wine shade is almost as rich but the teal is my fave.

Someone who was selling one about 10 years ago said they only made 100 of them. If that's the case, just finding one is an accomplishment!

I love the shape and details of the Jumbo Bag, if it had a long crossbody strap it would be perfect.

Coach brought the shape back in 2001 with a limited edition style that I believe was called a Glazed Roll Tote or Satchel, style 9701, that DID come with a long strap. It's one of my favorite bags, the shape actually works well when you use full size checkbook wallets, and the leather is glazed water buffalo hide. The spruce / teal green shade even changes color a little depending on the light. It also came in a wine shade that I also own as well as British Tan and a light blue color (still looking for one of those!). No catalog pics or info, unfortunately, just one drilldown pic and a few photos off Ebay. It measures about 12x6x6 and the long strap can be worn cross-body.

OK, so they're not quite Vintage yet, but soon...

They did a few other glazed water buffalo styles at the same time that were updates of Cashin originals, like this #9704 Glazed Bonnie Tote:

Here's the wayback listing.
The blue color was called ocean.

I wonder if maybe that's a different blue. Yes, Coach colors can differ a lot between the catalogs and the actual color but the Ocean seems too blue. The picture that Houseof999 posted is very close to the actual color.

Another mystery to be solved!

(Runs off to check the Wayback page...)

ETA - Thanks for the screengrab, Whateve!!
The Wayback page only lists 3 colors, Ocean, Bordeaux and Tobacco, so maybe that actually is the official name. Doesn't look anything like the real-life color though. And no mention of anything that might be the light blue. But at least we now have a link

I think this was the ocean color. Looks like a deep rich blue. I could be wrong. Not sure if this one is glazed leather though. I don't think it is but I ended up not getting it as I only saw it as a tote to be hand carried.

the Penelopes are not glazed leather but were made around the same time. The different type of leather could have taken the dye differently.

In the picture I posted of the demi roll, the main picture is the demi roll in ocean, and below that is a Penelope demi, also in ocean. They look different.

Yep, the color of the Penelope Satchel 9713 and its matching accessories in the Holiday 2001 catalog is definitely in the true blue range, I'd describe it as a Medium to Dark Wedgewood, maybe half a shade darker than the blue of the Penelope thumbnail on the Glazed Demi page of the Wayback that Whateve posted. But I've always considered my Glazed Roll to be more of a spruce green color with blue-ish overtones.

Of course, you have to wonder why we're even expecting Coach to be consistent about something like this, right? :graucho:

I've had this saved on an etsy list forever. I think the seller has it on eBay for a bit less but it's still pretty expensive!

Now there's a bag I've been watching ever since its previous owner sold it on eBay back in January 2016. Just prior to that, there was an olive green one that failed to achieve its reserve price on a couple of auction occasions. By the time I tracked that one down, it had been traded and then sold privately. If only I knew then what I know now! As the saying goes: we get too soon old, and too late smart.

Likes and thanks for all these posts! It’s amazing that in addition to our Authenticators we have @RL Bernstein for Coach Archival knowledge and @houseof999 for the Midwest Coach Archive Collection lol ;)
Side note, I do have a Costa Rican 9768 in glove tanned leather that I rescued from GW in bad shape. Even with noticeable fading on the areas of wear, after some refurb, I like this little bag a lot. It will hold a small wallet, cell phone and a slim pouch. Just need the diligence to follow up to see if Coach can send me the correct female turnlock piece. They send me the old one. As usual, @Hyacinth ‘s call of medium Wedgewood blue is spot on. Last year I saw several of her big sisters in this beautiful shade of blue on eBay. I may be tempted by the next I see one. I love the combo of this color with brass.

I needed to take the photo on my tablet. My iPad photo made it a deeper blue than irl.

That looks more like the light blue shade in one or two of the photos I posted of the 9701 Glazed Roll. It's definitely not even close to the teal-spruce-y shade of the Glazed Roll bag I own, so that's probably one color that's still unaccounted for. "Ocean" fits that light blue color pretty well.

The lighter blue one on Ebay years ago was the first 9701 I'd ever seen, and I didn't buy it because I didn't know if it was genuine. And yep, I'm STILL kicking myself for not taking a chance on it.

Was really happy to find this Janice Legacy yesterday for 30 bucks while strolling around an antique mall with DH yesterday. In really nice condition, too. No need to dunk. Couple applications of Leather CPR and a little bit of Blackrock and she’s super soft and supple.
Was afraid she would be too small for me, but she holds more than I thought...covers all of my key daily needs. She’s just shy of vintage...she turns 20 this October. [emoji846]
