It's hard to beat a Willis for functionality and good looks. There's a reason they're so popular!

I think the Classic Hobo #9855 is somewhat rare. It's also pretty large, with a pocket on the front (not a gusseted pocket though) and a zip closure. It might have the same problem as the Taft: large interior space that swallows everything.
Another pretty rare bag that is a good size is the Becket zip. It came in some really interesting colors. 9920_Becket Zip_1993.jpg beckettzip004.jpg

I have one of these in black and it is a great bag! I don't find it swallows things up. I haven't seen them around much either. The pocket is a little useless on the outside, it's not very secure.

Never seen that one before! Love that purple! Looks so cute with that tag charm. I love really colorful stuff.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I’ve got a legacy zip on its way to its new home, should be here next week. I’m hoping it will be a good combination of big enough and not too big.

I do like the Classic Hobo, I stumbled onto one at a flea market and it was one of my first pair of real rehabs!
Interestingly, after spending way more time searching on eBay than I want to admit to, I see both of these styles quite regularly. I see the Becket mostly in black. I see the Classic Hobo in just about every color they offered it, including the spectator versions. Although on a cautionary note, one of the styles I see faked often is the Classic Hobo in BT with a 5 digit id#, stamped made in Korea. Often .
