Hello, I’m new to this, I just wondered if anyone had a favorite “rare” bag?
It depends on how you define rare. The bag I would most like to find is a full sized safari tote in a pretty color. Of the bags I own that are also pretty rare, my favorites are my suede watermelon satchel and the two tone stroll tote reissue. I just bought another that I think will become a favorite - the long handle flight bag. Oh, and I have a Rambler's Legacy in a rare blue color.

Those are beautiful bags! I need to stop buying coach bags..... I’m pretty sure I have developed an addiction to vintage coach! I have bought quite a few, but non that are probably considered rare. I have a Taft and a pocket bag. Both in black. But I did bring a very loved ny stewardess bag back to life

I've never had a Taft. It seems like a great bag, but there are so many fakes, I stopped looking for one. Do you have a pocket bag or a pocket purse? The pocket purse is not rare, and a little too small for me. The pocket bag is a great bag.

Shoulder Purse, 9385. I've only actually carried it a couple of times, but I love the mood it creates when I wear it: light and carefree, with a clever secret inside. Not an everyday bag, but something for a special occasion.

I love this bag. I ended up getting rid of mine because I never carried it, but I loved the surprise inside.

Mine is a pocket bag. It looks hardly used and the serial number had me worried, but I thought I’d like it anyway:graucho: the Taft isn’t my favorite so far. I like my Patricia too. I generally like bigger bags too.
I love reading how you all bring these gorgeous bags back to life! ...... it’s alive... it’s alive:yahoo::panic:

The pocket purse looks interesting too:coolio:

Well there the mythical Pony Express lol lol. I go to FL tomorrow to visit my mom. I am praying it is waiting for me in the GW on Route 40, fingers crossed!! I did find a red pocket bag in amazingly good condition, as well as a navy shoulder purse and BT shoulder sac. While I don't consider them super rare, they are harder to find in good condition for what I paid for them.
Edited to add, I would love to see a Cody in real life. It has the body of a Taft, with a Courier *tounge* instead of a kiss lock. Off to finish packing.

Before my recent expansion of bags, I found a Patti (lol my nickname for the Patricia) in black at a thrift shop and I uuuused that bag. I bought another Patti in brown last year. Didn't really connect with the shade of brown, it was a little cool and really didn't use it. Pulled it out to take to a consignment shop but decided to use it on a whim. Now I love it. It is all I can do to keep my self from buying more!!

Yeees, I was surprised how much I liked my Patti:nuts: Good luck and happy hunting on finding your mythical bag:flowers:

I've never found one of these and realistically, I know I would also never use it because it's too small.

I guess I have some pretty rare ones, some of which I just hang on my wall because I am often a little scared to use my pre creed stuff but I still love owning them all. I'm really really bad with remembering the names of them all. But it's not necessarily rarities that I love the most about vintage Coach but classics like the Willis, Courier, original Rambler, flight bags, stewardess, kisslock totes, things like that.

Wow on the stroll tote. When were they reissued? It’s totally my kind of bag - very structural with minimal hardware, contrast/ colorblock and carried by the handle.

The rare bags are beautiful, but I like the classics as well! I am trying to find big vintage bags, the Taft swallows up anything I put in it, I really like my Willis, I just carry little too much normally for that one. I love the ones with gussited pockets.

I don't know if this post belongs here or in the rehab thread, but I spent a stupid $30 on this set of stickers for this bag, because I used it once but couldn't accept all the stains. I do like how it looks.. that's not the problem. The problem is after I did it I noticed this bag has some damage in some spots that I think spells the end for it. I should've just put it in my failed rehabs box. I think it may have dry rot in at least 2 spots! When I washed it maybe like a year ago, it had no damage to the edging, or very little on one spot which I repaired at the time. Since then it's been sitting on a shelf. So I put the stickers on then I was admiring it and I noticed the leather on the edging of one corner is so brittle it's seriously falling apart! Also the strap has damage beyond repair, cracking all over it and I really tried with a few conditioners so it also feels quite waxy/slimy and the bag has faded so much it doesn't really match anymore anyway. And then the the other cracking that seems very bad is on one of the little loops that holds the strap. So I will have to use another strap, but also worry that the leather loop might well snap. Ugh. This is the downside of rehabbing vintage bags. So sad when it's a fail....

Will upload picture in a second
