Would anyone be able to help me get a handle on this color (and maybe which decade it's from?) It says light green bit when I did a vague search of "vintage coach light green" I got quite a few different shades.

It's the perfect size for what I'm looking for, NWT, and a fabulous price, but WOW those pics are awful!

Wow, what horrible pictures! It is from the mid to late 90s through the early 2000s. In 1995, it came in bottle green, but I think that is much darker, and you can see the price in 1995 was only $38; this one is $48. I think this is lime, from 1997-1998. Coach used a similar color, kiwi, for non-Soho styles.

I have two of these. One is banana and has a creed, and is probably from 1995. The other is aqua and doesn't have a creed but has the Coach imprint on the exterior. It is probably from around 1997-1998, based on the color charts. It's odd that the 1995 catalog picture shows the imprint on the exterior. I wonder if they randomly put creeds in some and imprints on others, or if there was some time when they switched.

Trying to find the history on this Coach bag. #391-1644, tan , made in New York. Not able to upload pic.
Hi, welcome to the purse forum. The number is meaningless. Before 1994, Coach used all numeric unique serial numbers in their bags. We need pictures and measurements in order to ID. If you would like an authentication, post in the Authenticate thread here:

Hey everybody. Has anyone tried painting their vintage Coach? What was used? I was thinking about painting the trim of my white Pocket Purse. I saw this lovely Safari tote with a black trim/white body and it inspired me! Thank you.

If you just want to paint the trim, I think leather refinisher by Wood n Stuff will work well. I think I used it to touch up the trim on a spectator bag once. You only need to buy the 1 ounce sample bottle. http://www.wood-n-stuff.com/leatheraid.html

I have a weird question for you ladies, is a coach Chester in black a desirable hard to find style. The reason I ask is cause I just bought a rehab lot from ebay and the next day I get a random message the seller is switching out one of the bags (the chester) for a vintage black willis. Her reasoning was the inside was gross. Well she literally messaged me and didn't wait for a reply and sent the bags. It's a rehab lot so expected the bags to be in poor shape. What do you guys think?

Almost all of my NYC bags that have handles (musette, school bags, portfolio, etc) have silver toned hardware around the handle. The rest of the hardware is brass except the square pieces that attach the handle- they are silver toned. Is this normal? I thought all of the hardware was supposed to be solid brass? I also noticed the same thing on my slim pouches from 1978. The metal loops on the back don't seem to be brass either.
