I don't know.. the burgundy color on lightweights look different than the other glove tanned burgundy. I wonder if the leather just dyes differently?View attachment 3830935
I'm guessing burgundy.

On Lightweights, the color was called wine. You can't see much of a difference in this picture, but the Lightweights colors were lighter and brighter.I don't know.. the burgundy color on lightweights look different than the other glove tanned burgundy. I wonder if the leather just dyes differently?
Are you the member who posted the Light Tote in the wine/berry color? That bag looked great!I'm watching that, too! I just wish it wasn't burgundy.
I have a black Monterey Hobo and buckskin? Lite Tote and aside from thd leather being thinner, I find virtually no other difference in the over all quality from the original weight leather, including dye/color.I don't know.. the burgundy color on lightweights look different than the other glove tanned burgundy. I've rehabbed several lightweights and my experience is different than yours. My Lightweights were all very faded, like the dye just didn't last. Where they weren't faded, like inside, the colors were different. Obviously not black, but the blue is much brighter than the navy of regular leather bags, and the wine was lighter and brighter than burgundy. I find rehabbing Lightweights more difficult than regular glove-tanned leather, as conditioning isn't enough to bring back the color. Unrelated, I also found the zippers in Lightweights soft satchels to be poorer quality.I have a black Monterey Hobo and buckskin? I know I have read on other comments, if IRC, @Hyacinth has commented that there could be variations in the same color from season to season. This is based on the fact that there could be subtle variations from one batch of leather to another. Sort of like if you are buying yarn. Some manufacturers list a dye lot, so if you need alot of yarn for a project you look for the same dye lot #, for uniformity of color.
They have probably never tried to get ink marks out of leather. How can they rate this a 9 out of 10 in condition?

I hate when I find something I loooooove just after it's been listed and then gradually watch more people discover (and bid on) it only to watch it slip out of reach.

IKR I am glad to have several bags I really enjoy. They take the sting out of being outbid or unfunded for a BIN.~wistful sigh~ This one was out of my price range. http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-coach-court-plaza-green-shoulder-bag-rare-style-bag-/282655297044
