I started my big rehab project on a messed up skinny fight bag a seller misrepresented in too many ways.. I was going to return it but it seemed the seller was pretty difficult so I just gave her a negative after attempting to request a shipping label and finding her to be a liar. The zipper pull has some pretty bad damage and I'm wondering if instead of gluing down the cracks I should just swap out a different zipper pull. I have a brass zipper pull from a failed sonoma rehab that says Coach on it. I could replace it with that or do you guys think it's worth trying to save the original? This bag is already missing its original strap and hangtag so it's not like it's in its original shape at all...

I would probably replace the zipper pull. The leather looks too far gone. I don't know how I'd feel about using a Sonoma pull. If you are never going to sell it, that would be fine. Otherwise, I'd try to use leather like the original.

It does look awful doesn't it? I could maybe just use the ring I guess.. I doubt I will ever sell this bag. It has too many flaws. But if I did I would disclose that I have changed the zipper pull. I might check my spare parts and see if I can't find something but I think I don't have any spare leather in the right color.

Gah, beautiful [emoji7] I'm borrowing your display idea!
Thanks! Actually I tend to hang a few other bags over the top of those too LOL...And then, at this time of year the fall sun comes in at an angle in the morning and shines on those bags so right now I draped a bedsheet over them, doesn't look too attractive. I mean to get out the sewing machine and cut up old sheets and shape them to fit the bags on the wall better.

Also I have re-rehabbed 2 of those bags. The black one now looks so much better after a bath. The wrinkles on the back are much less and the shine is toned down a bit, a little softer. And the tan one in the front had some marks so I rewashed that too, removing the hardware of the turnlock and it looks better too! These days I'm always going back to old bags I didn't really do the greatest job on and trying again and it's rekindling my love for them..
