I think NYC it older ones can be depending on condition.
Cool! I have 4 of those, but when I was collecting them I think I paid much less. One I have in black is pre creed. But I think it may have either paint or shoe polish on it, it feels shiny and stiff. At the time I got it I thought that was great LOL.. now I know better. I guess I should rehab it I like pulling out an old bag out of my collection I forgot I had and fixing it up properly to use. I never did anything with that, I just hung it on the wall.

Same here! I bought saddle style bags but turns out it really isn't my style. I should list mine soon. They are just sitting around.

The Saddle / Berkley flap is a little on the small side for me but I love the style. So I just pull it out on occasion and cram it with stuff. I think I need. I did use my black Saddle the other day for meeting up with someone for coffee in the city when I did not want to carry something larger. And it needs a light condtioning. Waiting for a red or green one, cheap.
So I am naturally drawn to a Pony. Which I would cram the daylights out of, parade around and make everyone wait at check out lines while I fumbled around with the double closure.
Like many styles, I am amazed at the price variation/fluctuation. I recall paying atound $45 12 or 13 years ago for my black Saddle on ebay and recently $12-ish for a brown Berkley.

I know I have abundantly commented, in good nature, on your scores, but I would need an intervention if I had pickings like that available to me.

I know! Somehow I rehabbed 4 bags yesterday and I must admit it really was a thrill. I have 4 bags to get rid of now (older ones I don't want), but I have to say my love of rehabbing is really strong. If only my love of selling them was equal. So far I know I have a few bags I really must sell but I just never get around to it. Overall it is lucky that my Goodwill only has great bags occasionally, not consistently. I have a theory that the Goodwill boutique near me has stopped selling vintage Coach, as I haven't seen it there recently, so now it's all going to the regular Goodwill at nicer prices.

I know really, I enjoy rehabbing, especially dunking and watching the beautiful leather come back to life. And I got a nice result with the black dye/colorant on my black Plaza that is making me look at black bags listed for sale differently. But I really need to pick up some pillow cases so I can use them as dust covers and figure out a storage strategy! I have gifted a few bags and am ready to partcwith the Beekman.

On your wall? Pic please?!?

I keep them covered a lot of the time. But see how icky the black bag is:

It's almost a mirror! I am considering acetone but I'm a bit worried how it might look afterward. Right now the back is quite stiff and hard.

Yeah especially if there's a lot. I just stripped a black bag recently and it really looks so much better I've built up the courage to work on this one next. Just need a few hours... and a lot of paper towels!

Your collection is beautiful! I love how you've hung them on the wall.
I'll be interested to hear how it goes if/when you do tackle the black one. I rehabbed a very similar black Crescent Bag a while back. Only the back side was shiny and slightly hardened. I didn't think it was shoe polish because there was no smell. Why would someone only put shoe polish on the back side? It didn't make sense. My theory (wishful thinking maybe) is that it was caused by years of being worn against the hip and rubbing against clothing, especially jeans.
