What about hand sewing? The holes are already there, if you used heavy duty thread, you might be able to fix it going through the existing holes.

I've done some hand-sewing, but there's a lot wear and tear on a zipper, and if the zipper fabric eventually rips it will be a much bigger job to replace the zipper than just to re-stitch it back into place. I suppose if your hand-stitched it and left it unzipped it would be okay.

But it would probably be best to have it repaired professionally, if that is an option. Just my opinion.

Actually there doesn't seem to be any holes, no signs it was ever stitched, not even on the zipper. But the strap is coming a little unstitched in a part and I think I need to hand sew that back in place to make an extra strong repair, maybe even reinforce it with some glue too.

I think I'm just going to leave it as it is. I have had some things repaired here and they ruined the bags with the messy repairs. And it was just a simple rivet replacement. I have given up. I won't use the zipper or the pocket. I think it may have always been like that anyway. It seems to just have missed being stitched in.

Hi all, doing a drive by on lunch. And I can't not click on the link!! Well thank God for me that it is a sweet but little Brit or I would be making an offer. I need something larger. But then my Oliver and shoulder sac would get jealous:biggrin:

Yeah I wondered if I would even be able to fit my wallet in that. It is super cute though.

I think that way too sometimes. The other day I saw a pretty light pink bag but I had to stop myself from bidding because my pink pleated ergo kisslock is one of my favorites and I would feel torn between which on to carry. The new one would probably just sit in the closet. But I can't get enough of the tabacco, cognac, whiskey, British tan,.....glove tanned goodness!

I now see what you mean about the stitching coming undone for the upper part of the zipper and the bag. I did quite a bit of sewing when I was younger , so pardon me if I come off like a backseat or armchair rehabber. I can't help but wonder if someone who does leather repair could unzip the zipper, go from the *inside* and align the upper portion of the zipper with the edge of that leather with the strap ends and sew it together. I have seen a few of these bags on occasion for sale online. Perhaps there is a member here who has this bag or pics of it and would let you know if it was lined. And from the pics, you or someone who does leather repair could see how it needs to be sewn. Zippers are not a great mystery if you have sewn them. And I had an uncle who work for Talon back in the day. He gave us plastic dress/pant zippers in every color and size.
Even if it was repaired in someway or not , it is a totally great piece of Coach history to have. For $8. Sigh. Navy. Sigh.
Just sharing my two cents... Repairing or replacing interior zippers is a common activity. As for the #9490 Suspender Bag, all the versions I've seen, pre-creed and creed vintages have been unlined. As for not seeing the stitch line on the suede side of the zipper, you have to look real closely. Evidence of it is probably impossible to find on the zipper's bias tape.

I've "borrowed" (thank you rachelsthriftycloset) a photo from a past listing that perhaps shows where to look. I can't seem to find the photos of the one I had in the shop early this year. They must not have been archived and hopefully still reside on on of my other devices. Will have to look ...

Btw: if you don't have a local source you trust to do a quality job, I believe that the price sheet for having interior zippers repaired at COACH's NJ repair facility showed in the $35 category.

Yup. Nuts! I guess it really is that rare after all. So how many do we know of that are in existence?

Right?! It was 2-300 then...boom! The sledgehammer bid came down, lol! It's very pretty and I hope its new owner loves it dearly.

It's one of those styles I wouldn't even bother to bid on, my highest wouldn't even come close haha. I know they are super hard to come by, but honestly the bag seems kind "meh" to me. Is rarity really the only hype behind it? It looks so big and awkward and HEAVY! Just me?

Yup just you. Lol! J/k. To me it doesn't have enough swag to be called a swag bag. Haha. But it's ridiculously rare I guess to be more expensive than any Bonnie Cashin bag in the market! Someone wanted it really bad. I only want a Rogue that bad and not over $500. Lol!

I guess for a true collector, it would be a nice addition to have. I have a hard time really "collecting", if I don't use it I feel guilty keeping it. I've bought and sold so many bags thinking I could just "collect", but I can't do it haha.

I've been really enjoying my Rogue 25. Well worth the money imo. The leather is so nice, feels luxe and it's really practical. Highly recommend!

I am getting rid of everything that I collected but not using. I have some satchels I love but they don't have a shoulder strap and I don't want to hand carry any bags. So those are going. Can't have dust collector closet sitters taking up precious real estate. :) Though I am undecided on the red ones.
