It seems likely that soon after posting this everybody in the vintage thread is going to start hating me due to envy....

I just got back from Goodwill, can't stay away, and this time I found...... may the picture gods be with me today..
Envious maybe but I won't hate you! I love seeing a good score! It's inspiring to me and will motivate to venture out to other Goodwill/thrift stores!

NYC stewardess! My first grey NYC bag! The weirdest thing is, I think it;s going to be an easy rehab but it has newspaper print on it! Very weird, never seen that before:

Also found this very orange backpack, only just vintage. Has a few marks I hope will come out on the bottom, and a bit of pen on the inside I might try and get out or not..

And a couple of more modern bags I won't put here in the vintage thread.

Suddenly I have a huge rehab pile. And I mean huge. I also don't have time to do any of it, with fathers day and my kids around all the time on summer break!

Oh and I have to add, it was the weirdest thing when I found the stewardess as it wasn't in the bag section, it was on the electronics shelf many aisles away! So lucky I found it. Man it is really hard to stay away from that GW now.. I just keep thinking what if they put out more awesome vintage and I miss out!

So when you buy a red bag (vintage 1990-ish) already in very good condition, and I know I am being premature here, what products do you use on it?
And please all opinions/comments are welcome

Probably a little blackrocks or leather cpr. I am so bummed I can't find cpr at Marshalls! Is Lexol a good substiitute? I saw it at my Fred Meyer so that would be easy for me to get.

Yeah, I can totally relate! I would be camped out by the front door every morning. Nice finds!

Lol, obviously I can only speak for me, but hey, if someone has to scoop up that bounty, let it be tPFer that will return them to their glory! Just give us a new bag count every Friday!

Is the Stewie a putty, tabac, stone sort of color? And I have to ask, was it $ 25 or less??
And yes, I know that tangerine color. My first Coach store purchase was at the Jacksonville factory store in 1998. I bought a small Soho hobo in tangerine (that I am still looking for)!
Yeah, you are working on pile, girl. And btw, I will PM you my personal information so I can be included in your will as to give these all home where they will be loved, LOL.

Lexol is a very light conditioner. I have not used Leather CPR yet. I have been using Leather Therapy restorer/conditioner followed by Obenauf's Oil if needed and then finishing with Blackrock.
Some of the bags I have been using more, that got the full dunk and condition need a little light cleaning. So I will wipe them with some diluted Lexol cleaner or castille soap and then use the Lexol conditioner.
Side note: a tPFer suggested Saphir products and I am ordering a product that is a mix of conditioner/dye (for a faded black court and Patty) so I will buy some of their conditioner.

It seems lately that vintage bags selling on Ebay are getting too expensive! The most I spent was 62 and that was for a red Pocket Purse.I even got a City Bag for under $30 back in March and a Janice for 25.00 BIN. Oh well....
I think there will always be some bags that will be out of reach for me, aside from walking into Belicious's Goodwill or just logging onto ebay just after someone has just listed one of my HG bags at a ridiculously low BIN. That being said, I have been able to luck into a few amazing vintage purchases online from either spending an embarrassing number of hours scouring listings or just dumb luck. I found a BT Oliver on Mercari under a listing "Coach purse" basically in spanking new condition for $26 shipped after pouring through old listings for days! And I won a 99 cent bid on a lovely brown Berkeley flap/saddle back in February. So sucking up $12 of shipping was a non-issue. It was listed as vintage so I guessed everyone here was at church as it ended on a Sunday at 11 am, lol. And I did luck out at FL Goodwill and found a NYC shoulder sac, ranch bag and Monterey hobo for $25 each. I have found a bunch of rehab specials on ebay for less than $30, but it is not like they were the coveted kisslocks or the purse bag with a coin purse inside. But I have my little group of bags that I am happy with. So I just want to encourage you to keep looking, you never know what you will find.
And I just spent a bit more on a red Pocket bag (1990ish) than I normally would. I decided because it was in style I was kinda hot for, and did I say it was red? lol, as well as what looks like very good condition that I would maybe scale back on other bags on my watch list to buy that bag.

It is light grey, I have never had a bag in this color before. It doesn't have that hint of tan that puttyor tabac have, at least I think. Honestly, I have a lot of different shades of tan NYC bags and I don't know which is which, but this is not any of those colors. It's new to me. I am very scared to use anything to remove the newsaper print off the front of it. It's in great condition other than that. Yes it was under $25, in fact close to half of that! But somehow these purchases have been adding up to a lot! I'm feeling a little sick because I also bought a few things off ebay this week. I have honestly never had a rehab pile like this! And no leather cpr LOL... Yikes I better get onto Amazon I think. I have been to Marshalls pretty much every day this week to see if they get some.

If there's a Home Depot or Ace Hardware nearby, they carry it. You can order online and they'll deliver it to the store for you.
