Mine is a very dark brown with the black plate. Mahogany?
Yes, I did dunk mine because it was FILTHY. It would have been garbage if I hadn't. It came out fine, but I didn't dunk too long. Only enough to scrub and plump the leather a bit.
Mine needs some sewing. I've been looking around for an old school professional leather repair. My shoe guy is too hasty. I want someone to work on it who understands the importance of doing it right.
I even though about sending pics to Coach repair and see if they'd help me finish restoring it.
I sent you a PM.

I have a red one. what color is yours?

ETA: have you bathed it? I'm afraid to dunk it. I'm afraid of the seal losing the shape from the bath.

Are yours classic pouch size (10x9) or the smaller classic pouch (8x8) that Hyacinth described?

Do you guys buy bags you like and then resell them? I don't want to sell any bags.. I just want to have them all for myself! And all the bags I have that I've lost the love for I just want to give to Goodwill. And yes I have too many bags. I have a few that aren't vintage that I'm thinking of giving away and the thing is, I think most Coach after about 2000 sucked so badly in quality that it's not worth even trying to resell. Also it looks dated to me. But maybe I am just being too fussy? I just hate ebay and it's fees and stuff.

I've never sold a bag. I've bought a few from Etsy, but most in person from Savers, Goodwill and other thrift stores. When I don't want them anymore, I donate them.

I started by buying everything I liked and wanted to carry. I had no clue and most of the time when the bag came I was greatly disappointed. Having learned more over time on what to look for helps. Anyway, not the sellers fault, so I just kept them and now am trying to slowly list them just to recoup my cost(just barely, most of the time.) Then, that money can just sit in my PayPal account to buy what I now truly want. That's why I sell. I don't have the time working 60+ hours a week with two little ones to buy and flip for profit. It's just a hobby. (The CFO at my house likes when I can offset the cost of supplies, too [emoji847])

There are plenty of wonderful Coach bags made after 2000, and lots of them are in demand, like 2006 Legacy and 2007 Bleecker. I wouldn't want to give to Goodwill because they will mark it up insanely. Why should they get that profit and not you?

I've had to sell because not every bag works out, and sometimes I'll change my mind about what works for me.

After I rehab a bag, I tend to have personal connection to it and don't want to get rid of it. I've sold a few that I've rehabbed that I just don't like to carry as much as my other bags.

I love both the 2006 Legacy and 2007 Bleecker bags. I think my Felicia from the 2007 Bleecker line has the best leather of any Coach bag I own. It also has the most amazing leather smell. I wish Coach would go back to making interesting handles like they did around that time.

Indeed.. but unfortunately most of the ones I have post 2000 aren't of the good type I guess. I don't like how the edges of the strap wear in most of the modern style bags. They frey and crack and fall apart and I just don't want to sell bags like that. I don't know if I have any Legacy or Bleeker. I guess I have some Legacy but those aren't the styles I'm wanting to get rid of. I really have no idea what they are.. I think I need to look them all up by their serial numbers I guess. I think maybe my main motivation for giving them to goodwill is laziness, and secondly doubting that they are worth very much. I know my tastes have changed so much that I don't tend to have any interest in modern bags at all so I have no interest in buying or selling them. I guess I should push myself to list them pretty low and then I would at least get some money from them. I do need the money. To buy me some more vintage Coach :)
