I bought mine for $80. Of course I would have loved to pay $40 but I guessed the probability of one showing up in this style AND in red were pretty scarce. It has water stain but not visible from the front.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/132142180114
Another listing that slipped under my radar. I would have been game to, even though what I'm really looking for is the bag that perhaps spawned the style used for the Federal bag...

Do you guys buy bags you like and then resell them? I don't want to sell any bags.. I just want to have them all for myself! And all the bags I have that I've lost the love for I just want to give to Goodwill. And yes I have too many bags. I have a few that aren't vintage that I'm thinking of giving away and the thing is, I think most Coach after about 2000 sucked so badly in quality that it's not worth even trying to resell. Also it looks dated to me. But maybe I am just being too fussy? I just hate ebay and it's fees and stuff.
I mostly buy ones I like but

I have a few vintage bags but most are newer
I love my 09 toup Brooke so I bought the brown 2010 MFF on eBay because it looked soft and squishy too....NOPE.....can't wait to find it a new home. But on the other hand I took a chance on a few others and I love them.
My vintage bags are all soft thick gorgeous leather.

There are many charities that are more worthy than Goodwill in my opinion. DH thinks that they are really a for profit company. An employee told us they hire the handicapped because they can legally pay them less than minimum wage. I like to donate to local charities so I know the money will stay within the community.
Yes, I agree. The money we raise stays in our community. I regularly work in the thrift store. We give grants to teachers, and I have personally handed out checks to teachers at schools in our school district. I have handed out bags of groceries to low income seniors at the senior center here in town. I have taken foster children to Kohl's for new school clothes. I've seen the money come in and go back out. None of the money we raise goes towards salaries. Every single person volunteers her time.

What was that bag listed as in the title? Just wondering why we missed it.
The title was appropriate and complete (Vintage 1960's-1972 Coach Red Leather Flap Bag with Federal Seal or Great Seal). I think that it may have just been an attractively priced BIN that was grabbed up quickly on a Wednesday morning. I myself don't know how to pull up the "time listed" info on sold listings, so it's speculation on my part.

Oh I must have missed it even in my browsing because I do have a search set for Coach red leather. Oh well. Not everything can come to my collection all at all once! I shall wait for another. :)

I can't find it in the sold listings. Was it another platform?
