There are plenty of wonderful Coach bags made after 2000, and lots of them are in demand, like 2006 Legacy and 2007 Bleecker. I wouldn't want to give to Goodwill because they will mark it up insanely. Why should they get that profit and not you?

I've had to sell because not every bag works out, and sometimes I'll change my mind about what works for me.
I don't donate to Goodwill, but to the Assistance League, of which I'm a member. The more money we get from selling things, the more money there is for the food pantry and for the other programs.

After I rehab a bag, I tend to have personal connection to it and don't want to get rid of it. I've sold a few that I've rehabbed that I just don't like to carry as much as my other bags.

I love both the 2006 Legacy and 2007 Bleecker bags. I think my Felicia from the 2007 Bleecker line has the best leather of any Coach bag I own. It also has the most amazing leather smell. I wish Coach would go back to making interesting handles like they did around that time.

I bought one of these Legacy Leigh from GW the other day for $7. It has interesting handles. But it's not in great shape overall, would need some work. I was going to strip it of it's hardware(especially the turnlocks and cute medallion hang tag) and give it back to Goodwill. I figured it was cheaper than buying turnlocks new when I need them. Should I instead fix it up and try to sell it? Link borrowed from ebay, not my bag:

Does anyone have any info., history or otherwise about the Coach Federal bags? The one with the eagle on the front flap. Were they for sale to the public? I've seen white, red, brown, black and maybe a yellow color. Is 1972 correct or were they in production longer? It's my oldest bag and I'd like to know more info. for my own knowledge.
Like magic, you mention a style that has been missing from the marketplace(s) for six+ months, and voila, one appears.

(Note: Not my listing. I do though wonder what the valuation is based on? Certainly not the historicals.)

Wow that is a real beauty. How do you know what it is worth?
Simply put, it's worth what some buyer is willing to spend for it. The last one that I know of sold for about $40. Admittedly, it was in poor condition. I believe that @houseof999 purchased hers a few months prior to that, but don't recall for how much. And if memory serves me correctly, there was another one (or two) that also sold in the latter part of 2016, all of which were the smaller, squared-off, metal tagged 1972 versions.

I remember those two. They had damage, too. One black and one navy. Around $100 bucks I believe. I never saw the red one 999 got. I once saw a white one in the sold listings. That's all I've seen.

I bought mine for $80. Of course I would have loved to pay $40 but I guessed the probability of one showing up in this style AND in red were pretty scarce. It has water stain but not visible from the front.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/132142180114

I always kicked myself for not buying the black or navy. At the time, I thought a $100 was too much. I didn't know how rare they were. I think you did good!
Believe me. Mine was only worth the $40. It's a hot mess.

Thanks. I think it appears better in photos than in person. The color is a lot more muted in person and not as vibrant as the sellers photos.

There are many charities that are more worthy than Goodwill in my opinion. DH thinks that they are really a for profit company. An employee told us they hire the handicapped because they can legally pay them less than minimum wage. I like to donate to local charities so I know the money will stay within the community.
