What everyone else said, or the buyer didn't pay. Maybe she got caught up in the bidding and realized she didn't want to pay that much.
There was something wrong with the bids:

This shouldn't have happened. A person shouldn't have been able to bid $72 or $81 if the price of the item was already over $140.
@BeenBurned Can you explain this?
I was wondering the same thing. It could have something to do with several bids being placed at the exact same second, possibly one or more of them by an automatic sniping service. I'll be interested in what BeenBurned thinks happened.

I can tell you I was the one who bid $72 and I was using Gixen (sniper).

Your bid should have been rejected since it was less than the minimum bid allowed at the time. There must be some problem ebay when the bid comes from a sniper service.

Yes I did scratch my head a bit when I saw the order of bids at the time. I think a few snipes must've happened all within a few seconds.

I bet the buyer pulled out because the bag was a little too beat up for the price and she didn't expect it would go that high. There is some damage on the edges as well as countless ink stains.

Thanks to all for the commenting about reposting the green bag. I can see RL's point about the super dry condition of the the leather. And another question of mine was answered about bid history's as well. I have looked at bid history's on occasion and scratched my head at the sequence. But a glitch with sniper software could explain that.

Looks too shiny. Shoe polish?

This is such a coincidence because I have one of these and or a long time I have suspected it has something on it.. I don't know if it's shoe polish or some other shiny substance.. but I've been thinking of giving it up also because of severe edge damage. Anyway. I was looking at it today and I realised it's actually navy o the inside! So someone has somehow changed it to black. I don't know if I want to bother trying to strip it or just throw it in the parts pile.. Like the listing that was mentioned, the hardware has turned silver. The handles are also shiny and black. Lately my box of bags I keep for parts has gotten rather big. I was thinking of cutting them up and making some stuff out of leather... I don't know what really.

I don't think so. I can still see scratches. Shoe polish usually has a pretty thick coverage. I have one like it that's shiny but not polished. I will see if I have it nearby. Can't remember is it's in the storage.

I wondered about shoe polish, too. Maybe I'm just paranoid after getting a severely scuffed bag that also had hidden polish. It was so well-worn that I didn't discover polish remnants until conditioner refused to absorb near corners/edges. After conditioning, it looked shiny but still had scuffed/scratched areas with polish underneath.
