Do you want it to look like a briefcase? There are briefcase styles that are slim and really don't work well as a purse. Since you will also carry a purse, these might work well for you. My personal favorites are the watermelon tote, the Madison Drake and the Sheridan Sumter. The watermelon doesn't have a shoulder strap though.

I prefer bag with shoulder strap, especially since u mentioned Coach vintage briefcase can b heavy. I like the Sheridan Sumter a lot. It doesn't look too manly [emoji7]

Many people like the musette, carrier, swag types of bags. Keep in mind they are heavy.

Hmm maybe I need 2! A Sheridan Sumter + Musette [emoji23]

There are a few other small "ladies" briefcases but without the vintage look of the ones Whateve posted. The Colebrooke Case style 5181 is from the mid-1990s, and the newer Metro Mini Briefs #5335 (often mistakenly listed as Crosbys) were made in China around 2002.

There are a lot of bags, totes and briefcases that will work, just check the measurements and details carefully. Remember too that older full-size briefcases made in the mid to late 1990s and designed to hold a laptop were made for a bigger computer than what we carry now. Check the front-to-back measurements to be sure you're not getting something that's 6 inches deep and bulky as he11.

Thanks Hyacinth, I will google those names u listed above!

That Sheridan Sumter is gorgeous! It's especially appealing to those of us who are drawn to both vintage Coach and vintage Dooney and Bourke bags.

+1!! Totally agree with u on this. Great for Dooney n Coach Vtg lover like us [emoji7]

Again, DON'T depend on the names seller use in listings to be correct! I almost NEVER use Google, and very seldom use names. Both the styles I mentioned have the style numbers right in the creed, so that's what I use to search.

Hi ladies, I saw a BEAUTIFUL Vtg that is pricey! But what do u think of this bag? Is this bag so rare that it can fetch such high price?

Listing is still active if any of u r interested.
It looks like a pony express. It is very popular; almost always goes for very high prices. Look at how much this one sold for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-70s-COA...307413?hash=item33a8bd4155:g:moUAAOSw0JpV6ijh
We discussed this style in this thread awhile ago. Go back to page 389 and start reading.

For the 75th anniversary, Coach is remaking several styles, including the classic pouch, duffle, and dinky. What do you think?

I prefer the classic pouch to the 2016 saddle bag. The dinkys look cute but are too small to be useful. All the colors are nice. So far, I don't see anything I have to have.

I have a Rambler's Legacy remake from 2013, I think. I bought it because I love the two tone blue but for quality, I prefer my 1998 Rambler's Legacy.

I'm with you on that, except I wish the Classic Pouch had a longer strap. The Patricia's Legacy strap length is good for me. I have a Penny from the last legacy collection and I use it, but I have other bags around the same size that feel just as small but hold more. As tempted as I am by that dinky with the kisslock, I think I can resist it, at least until there is a major markdown at outlet :graucho:

I prefer the Classic Pouch too (I have one made in NYC from the late 70s-early 80s, so that's my Gold Standard!) to the 2016 Saddle Bag too.

I couldn't find the Dinky reissue on the Coach webs site, do either of you have a link? Thanks.

It's not on the website yet. There are a few pictures in the Spring preview thread and a few other threads.

Hi ladies, I received my Madison Gracie bag n I'm very impressed with the condition of the bag. The leather is so different from my other Coach vintage. What leather is used on Madison's range?

Oh my Gracie is structured n so lady like! [emoji7] I can't wait to bring her out for dinner date with hubby
