I am trying to find more Vtg in colors other than Black, Brown, Bordeaux because most of my vintage from other brand r in these colors. I also posted pic of my Vtg Dooney on Dooney Vtg thread in case some of u r interested [emoji16]

Here's one more. This is from the Carriage classics collection from around 1992. This is the Chauncey bag, #9897. It is very small but it is pretty cute and a very nice shade of olive. I never rehabbed it. Actually I didn't rehab the stroll tote either. I found that one in almost perfect condition.

This bag is TDF! What does the inside look like? Is this a bag you would carry?

Ok I decided to post pics of bags I've bought even though I have only receive 6 pieces so far. And I'm excluding my dark brown Willis because I'm planning to sell or give away. All pics shown r what seller posted on eBay when I bought them. They r much better than me in terms of photography skill! Last night I posted a Vtg coach drawstring on coach thread, the the pic was awfully dark! It doesn't do justice to the bag lol [emoji23]

2 med size I've seen are court bag n 70's portfolio mini briefcase NY City Cashin.

If any of u have some of the bags mentioned above, pls share pro n cons [emoji16]

I'm not sure if you're going about this the right way. Are you looking for a handbag or a business bag? How are you going to be using it?

There's a huge difference in both size and utility between bags like the Musette and the City Willis and Court Bag. The City Willis is NOT a briefcase, it's strictly a handbag and I doubt if it would fit any tablet-sized electronics. I have problems with it comfortably holding a full-size wallet, phone, cosmetic case and sunglasses case plus my keys. The Court Bag is even smaller - I had one and got rid of it because it was just too small for me.

"2 med size I've seen are court bag n 70's portfolio mini briefcase NY City Cashin."
The Court Bag is only about 9x7 inches. That's NOT a briefcase. And there's no such thing as a "portfolio mini briefcase NY City Cashin", that's not an official Coach name.

BRIEFCASES in my opinion should measure at least 14 x 11 inches, more if you need to carry a full-size laptop. Anything smaller than that isn't a briefcase, it's a purse. Just because it sort of looks like a briefcase doesn't make it one. Coach doesn't OFFICIALLY call a bag a Briefcase unless it's business-appropriate. Messenger Bags are another category with similar details, but again sellers often misuse the name and call anything with a cross-body strap a Messenger bag.

Look at the bags' measurements, NOT what the sellers are calling it. I've seen dozens of Willises and even Station Bags described as "small briefcases" and they're not even close, they're small to medium handbags. And try to get the style numbers, not just whatever name sellers are using in their listings. Sellers often don't know a style's correct name, DON'T depend on them!

Lexington is a LINE of bags, not one specific style. There was also a Lexington Briefcase. We need style numbers, not just names. And if a bag or briefcase was made before 1994, the seller might not know their name OR style number.

Why don't you decide what you need to carry in the bag and how much room you need, and take one of the bags that you own and that comfortably holds everything you need to carry and MEASURE IT. Then whan looking at listings, keep a ruler or tape measure handy to get an idea of the actual size of the bag you're interested in. If there's no clear creed photo or size measurements in the listing, ask here. But NEVER depend on a seller's style name or description to be accurate.

Oh I copied those names from listing I saw on eBay n etsy. The measurement listed is good enough for my 11" MacBook Air. I want a bag that can fit my small laptop plus a book or small file.

As for medium size briefcase, I need it to fit my iPad, book n med size agenda. I normally carry another smaller bag as day to day bag - for quick on site visiting or lunch, I don't like to put make up pouch, wallet, phone etc together with my laptop.

Do you want it to look like a briefcase? There are briefcase styles that are slim and really don't work well as a purse. Since you will also carry a purse, these might work well for you. My personal favorites are the watermelon tote, the Madison Drake and the Sheridan Sumter. The watermelon doesn't have a shoulder strap though.

Many people like the musette, carrier, swag types of bags. Keep in mind they are heavy.

There are a few other small "ladies" briefcases but without the vintage look of the ones Whateve posted. The Colebrooke Case style 5181 is from the mid-1990s, and the newer Metro Mini Briefs #5335 (often mistakenly listed as Crosbys) were made in China around 2002.

There are a lot of bags, totes and briefcases that will work, just check the measurements and details carefully. Remember too that older full-size briefcases made in the mid to late 1990s and designed to hold a laptop were made for a bigger computer than what we carry now. Check the front-to-back measurements to be sure you're not getting something that's 6 inches deep and bulky as he11.

That Sheridan Sumter is gorgeous! It's especially appealing to those of us who are drawn to both vintage Coach and vintage Dooney and Bourke bags.
