I've bought too many bags this month so can't afford this one, and shipping to me is $40!

Yep, this was what I was looking at when I brought up about the tarnished turnlock, if it can't be cleaned up, can it be replaced? I know there are sellers who sell parts for classic bags but for this style, I haven't seen any.
I've never seen replacement anything for Madisons. I doubt you could find anything even close.

Oh, that's so pretty!
I know this has been discussed before, but I've forgotten…why is the bidder's feedback on this item marked private?

Apparently it's an option so the bidder doesn't disclose their identity (except to the seller). I don't know much about it, but I imagine there must be an extra fee for ebay for the privilege of being a 'secret' bidder.

I don't think it costs extra. I sold something to a very big seller who has private feedback for her buying account. I wonder if it is so she can tell sellers what she really thinks and no one will block her; or maybe she just does it so no one can connect what she paid with how much she sells them for. She never left me feedback so I assume it's the latter.

It's also a way to hide any negatives. Back in the old days when buyers could get negatives it was a lot more common.

hmm…responding to all the quotes but I know only the last one shows up. I guess it's a reseller as they've bid on a large amount of handbags. ?
That one is too small for me I think…telling myself it's too small even though the color is gorgeous and I love the style

So ... I just bought the red bag after hemming and hawing over it the past five days. Yep, literally five days. It was 25% off for Mother's Day through either today or tomorrow but still pricey. However, I saw in my history (as part of my hemming and hawing) that I had actually posted about this purse in March, 2014 cos it caught my eye then. It's been for sale that long. I went ahead and bit the bullet cos I prefer bags that are either mint or barely used and don't need rehabbed. If that means paying more, so be it. Plus ... according to Cameochi, I could be waiting a long time to find the same bag in the same color and condition for a lot less. They're pretty rare, I guess. :shame: All my clothes are solid colors in mostly neutrals. I wear a lot of black, winter/summer white, all shades of brown and navy, so this will go well with my wardrobe. I will definitely wear it lots. I love the 'POP' the bright red gives to a look.

Anyhow, after that novel, here she is: Sonoma satchel 4921 in Tomato made in Italy

ETA: I got it on Etsy. Y'all have probably seen it before.

Gorgeous. Congratulations. It was just waiting for you to buy it!

Shh! I was going to sneak it and get it for a steal! Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for a red one.

Whoops, sorry ehateve. I'm surprised that ebay wouldn't be charging extra for the private bidders service. I can see the appeal of it for re-sellers, and I do know the private bidding id of at least one re-seller.

Not vintage but a gorgeous bag with vintage like leather. I think Blackrocks will make those scratches less noticeable. It is the nature of the type of leather to scratch like that.

That is a pretty colour. It's quite a wide bag if the measurements are correct.

Thank you! I guess so. I swore up and down I was done buying bags -- and haven't bought any in nearly a year -- but then realized with as much black as I wear (many times top and pants), the only bags I had that looked right were my black Copley and etoupe Chanel. The Copley? Lovely bag and I wore it a lot last winter, but ... too much black. And my Chanel (oh how I love thee ) -- well, it doesn't have enough 'POP' either. A bright red is perfect, a great neutral that goes with lots of other colors too. No worries, though. The Copley and Chanel will still both get plenty of wear. Now I have an even half-dozen bags. Plenty.

I'm really done. :whiteflag:

ETA: I've lost 45 pounds and am halfway to my goal weight, so this is also a pressie to myself.

It will look awesome with black.

Only 6? You are sooo good! Once upon a time before I discovered tpf I was happy with one bag for summer and one for winter. And then I realised I was depriving myself! So many bags, so little time!

Gorgeous bag!
I always deliberate over my purchases…I usually miss out on most because I'm so slow to decide….somehow I still end up with plenty of bags. :) Enjoy!

Thanks! I thought about waiting a few months on this one since it's already been on sale so long (didn't think it was going anywhere), but if I had it would have been back to $299 + $18 shipping instead of the $242 I paid total.

I've never owned a Sonoma, but I'm pretty sure I'll love it. Half my bags are structured and the rest are slouchy. Whateve told me via PM that the Sonomas are soft, a bit slouchy and also easy to maintain. Hey, as long as it's that kind of design (which I adore), that sounds good to me!
