Shh! I was going to sneak it and get it for a steal! Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for a red one.

I don't think it costs extra. I sold something to a very big seller who has private feedback for her buying account. I wonder if it is so she can tell sellers what she really thinks and no one will block her; or maybe she just does it so no one can connect what she paid with how much she sells them for. She never left me feedback so I assume it's the latter.
I think I know who you're talking about. She's bought a few from me and doesn't leave feedback. We're ALWAYS going after the same auctions and she ALWAYS beats me (she just did a minute ago). Oh well. That's just how it works!

Either that or I was too stupid to pay that much for it. LOL Whateve said via PM the only reason it hadn't sold already was it was overpriced. :shrugs:

I don't think anyone is stupid for paying what a bag is worth to them. You've watched it for over a year, and never saw another one like it. You had the patience to wait over a year until it went on sale. I think you did well.

ETA: I love my red Sonoma (mine's a small full flap). It's been my go-to since I got it a month ago.

Thanks! I thought about waiting a few months on this one since it's already been on sale so long (didn't think it was going anywhere), but if I had it would have been back to $299 + $18 shipping instead of the $242 I paid total.

I've never owned a Sonoma, but I'm pretty sure I'll love it. Half my bags are structured and the rest are slouchy. Whateve told me via PM that the Sonomas are soft, a bit slouchy and also easy to maintain. Hey, as long as it's that kind of design (which I adore), that sounds good to me!

Congratulations, that Sonoma is to die for and as a new Sonoma fanatic, I can vouch that the chewy thickness of the pebbled leather is near indestructible as leather can get. It's soft without being too slouchy, not folding in on itself when you're trying to get in and out quickly. And I think you're smart to go after pristine bags. I got my flap for cheap and it was a totally faded black that looked and was sold to me as dark green in the photos:thinkin: But it'll give me practice in dyeing which could be fun in itself so I'm ok with it.

So ... I just bought the red bag after hemming and hawing over it the past five days. Yep, literally five days. It was 25% off for Mother's Day through either today or tomorrow but still pricey. However, I saw in my history (as part of my hemming and hawing) that I had actually posted about this purse in March, 2014 cos it caught my eye then. It's been for sale that long. I went ahead and bit the bullet cos I prefer bags that are either mint or barely used and don't need rehabbed. If that means paying more, so be it. Plus ... according to Cameochi, I could be waiting a long time to find the same bag in the same color and condition for a lot less. They're pretty rare, I guess. :shame: All my clothes are solid colors in mostly neutrals. I wear a lot of black, winter/summer white, all shades of brown and navy, so this will go well with my wardrobe. I will definitely wear it lots. I love the 'POP' the bright red gives to a look.

Anyhow, after that novel, here she is: Sonoma satchel 4921 in Tomato made in Italy

ETA: I got it on Etsy. Y'all have probably seen it before.
Congratulations! It really is gorgeous!
Whoops, sorry ehateve. I'm surprised that ebay wouldn't be charging extra for the private bidders service. I can see the appeal of it for re-sellers, and I do know the private bidding id of at least one re-seller.

That is a pretty colour. It's quite a wide bag if the measurements are correct.
It's not really that wide, I don't think; well wider than some bags, but it's not like I have trouble walking through doorways! I love this kind of style because it isn't very deep, it is very easy to open with just a turnlock, and when you open it, you can see everything easily, and reach whatever you want easily. The straps are comfortable on my shoulder but the bag looks just as good carried on the arm. The leather is amazing and the color is wonderful. See the stock photo at the bottom.
Thank you! I guess so. I swore up and down I was done buying bags -- and haven't bought any in nearly a year -- but then realized with as much black as I wear (many times top and pants), the only bags I had that looked right were my black Copley and etoupe Chanel. The Copley? Lovely bag and I wore it a lot last winter, but ... too much black. And my Chanel (oh how I love thee ) -- well, it doesn't have enough 'POP' either. A bright red is perfect, a great neutral that goes with lots of other colors too. No worries, though. The Copley and Chanel will still both get plenty of wear. Now I have an even half-dozen bags. Plenty.

I'm really done. :whiteflag:

ETA: I've lost 45 pounds and am halfway to my goal weight, so this is also a pressie to myself.
Congratulations on your weight loss. I wish I could remember what it was like to only have 6 bags.
lol! Remember to get a creed picture and a picture of the back of the turnlock if you're interested in the geometric. I bought two fakes when I was building my collection and they weren't obvious. It isn't really an avocado green; it is closer to lime or kiwi.
I posted a link to add replacement Madison turnlock didn't I? I'd almost swear I posted it here or in the rehab thread? I recently saw its still listed so I bet its out there somewhere.
I don't remember but that's not surprising. I can't remember anything these days!

Thanks! The main reason I look for pristine or barely used bags is because I know I would suck at rehabbing. I'm just not good at that kind of stuff. As accident prone as I am, I would totally ruin them.

That's a Sonoma. It's gorgeous but so expensive! My green Sonoma was made in Italy too.

JMHO it's over priced. Here is one on eBay but in tan made in Italy. I like Etsy but it tends to get pricey. I watch eBay until what I am looking for comes available at a reasonable price BUT...if you want that red color you could be waiting a long while.

I thought it was a Savoy! Oops. :shame:

My Chanel was made in Italy and is caviar leather. I adore it, which is why I'd love a Madison. The Copley is gorgeous and large enough to actually use. The Gracie is cute but impractical. I don't think the Biltmore would be big enough for me, either.

I also love the looks of the Savoy and Bristol.

Just for grins and giggles, I went back and found these old posts about my Sonoma from March, 2014. Originally I thought it was a Savoy. At the time, I was particularly interested in the Italian Madison line and asked if anyone had a list of all the style numbers. Cameochi did and posted it. I started Googling each one and the Savoy and Bristol caught my eye. However, I really wanted a Copley the most. I loved its ladylike appearance, caviar leather like my Chanel and that it was big enough to hold all my crap. Once I finally got one (from a nice TPF'er), that was it for me. I said, "I'm set for life. I don't need any more bags."

I even started only rarely coming on here. Totally forgot about the Sonoma until it hit me maybe a week ago that a red bag would look better with certain outfits than what I had (and go with other things in my wardrobe, too). I found the Sonoma again while searching for one on Ebay and Etsy. It jumped out at me and looked better than all the other red bags I saw. I favorited it on Etsy, and the seller messaged me about his 25% Mother's Day sale. Then all the research and hemming and hawing began.

Funny how life works.

BRIEFLY OT: Thanks! I joined a gym in January and have been going 4-5 days a week for an hour each. I alternate between riding the stationary bike nonstop and doing circuit weight training. In addition, I also volunteer in my church office at the front desk 2x a week, help with monthly food drops plus attend weekly church-related small group meetings. I'm hardly ever home. This is a total 180 from where I was in October when I attempted suicide. I was home 24/7, upstairs by myself and online all day ... totally isolated. Aside from my parents, online was the only interaction I had with people. Everything's sooo much better now. Nothing like being with real people in the flesh face-to-face. :happydance:

OK, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Did she buy that orange Bonnie Cashin last night? I wanted to bid on that one but I couldn't remember when it ended and couldn't find it on my phone. It sold around my top price anyway so I'm sure she would have outbid me.

I'm sorry to hear about the low point in your life but it is so nice to hear about how you turned your life around. The internet is both a blessing and a curse. I know of people who are disabled or have social problems for whom the internet gives them almost the only human interaction they ever get. But it can become a crutch that makes it possible to stay in our cocoons and not develop any real relationships. You have every right to be proud of yourself. Congratulations again!

I'm so glad you've been able to turn your life around GeorgiaGirl!

Yep, after I lost my job then got sick and had to file for disability, it all went downhill from there. I did use the internet as a crutch.

OK, back on topic!
