Whoa!! That poor briefcase! Did someone carry gravel in it? A "project" is also a bit of an understatement.

That is normal with these bags. They were brass plated (unlike the bags Coach made later that had solid brass hardware) and the brass plating wore off unevenly. I think I may have seen one that didn't look worn; I think it had never been used and had been stored carefully.

Hi - just bought this at my local thrift store for $15. Made in New York City - appears to be a slim briefcase type, but I don't think I've seen this kind with a crossbody strap before. Anyone know the style/name?

I've don't remember one with straps. Can you show a picture of the strap attachment on the side and provide the measurements?
