I'm in the same boat as you  and I have found that the ruler at my desk is a poor tool to judge the size-suitability of a purse. In addition, I have found that the outside dimensions are not really indicative of the useful inside dimensions. My little (and I mean little ) Wendie has arrived and she will not hold my sunglasses, so she is relegated to evening going-out status. I will keep her, because she is in fabulous shape and cute as button, but I would not call her useful. I find the size of my Metropolis bags just fine for everything that I have to carry, but I would like to have that flap with turnlock bag in anything but black and brown. But those bags are hard to find and if they are found, they cost more than I'm willing to spend. I will keep my eyes peeled for that elusive bag, but not really expecting to find it . I think that perhaps the colored bags of the '80's and '90's were produced/sold in lower numbers than the blacks and browns and hence the aftermarket is also diminished. Here is my Wendie with small stomach. I might be able to get some tissues in there, but that would be it .View attachment 5437575View attachment 5437576View attachment 5437577
It's so cute! The tiny bags in gorgeous colors are often found in great condition because no one can use them as an everyday bag.

Ditto the ruler issue. Exterior dimensions do not always equate enough usable inside space, particularly when no two people seem to measure the same way, nor did Coach apparently. I'd love to find just the right bag in a true navy ("blavy" too close in color to my many black bags) or even a beautiful red shade like your bag. I'm not confident that I have enough rehab skills for a red bag and I don't think I can spend the money for a perfect or pristine red bag.
Thanks for sharing photos. It always helps to see a style in use.
It's a long shot but the navy of the carriage collection can't be confused with blavy. There is the Fulton bag. This isn't my picture but I have the Mulberry bag from the same collection in navy.

ETA: the lightweights blue is also a nice navy, although they are often found faded.

Hello! I have a couple of questions about these two courier bags.
Green, what is this color called? (I know is not Sage, or bottle green) & What approximate year?
Brown:What approximate year? Is it a Ruff Out?
Thank you, I hope you guys know something about them.

The brown is a ruff out. Does the green one have a creed and/or a serial number?
