I have said for the past six months “.. *This* is the last bag.. no more..”

And…… I just bought a Chrystie tonight.. I had to .. I need to replace the spring lock with a turn lock. Because I need to know if it’ll look as good as Coachaddicts Derby!!

Hello,

New to coach vintages and love the look. Do you known of coach vintages bags suitable for laptops (13 inches). Saw a tote that I really liked but while it was wide enough, it wasn’t sufficiently tall. Thanks much !!
Welcome to vintage Coach bag addiction! The Sonoma Pocket Shopper #4920 is a great tote for my 11.5 " laptop and it has an outside pocket on each side. Bonus, bonus!
A 13" laptop is a smudge too wide to fit down inside because of the zipper top opening. It could stand on end, but then it wouldn't fit far enough inside to zip the tote closed. You didn't mention which bag you had found, but this one can definitely be put on your "will not work" list for a 13".
Sorry I couldn't provide more help. Hopefully someone else can recommend a nice bag. Good luck!

In my experience I have found that you need to go wider by at least an inch (if not more) in all directions to accommodate your lappy. The bag I bought for mine should technically fit, but by the time the lining and/or the leather turn-back is taken into account, the mouth of the bag is actually quite a bit smaller than the outside dimensions of the bag. I will eventually use mine by putting the lappy in sideways with a bit sticking out on top. This is ok for my use, but for possible professional use, or to protect the lappy and possible close the purse I would have had to go at least an inch larger than the computer. It helps that the bag has some depth, so it does hold not only the lappy, but my other stuff as well - the main reason I bought bag rather than continue to use my briefcase, which holds none of my stuff.

There are a couple of bags I can think of, one is a Sonoma (lined) and the other is the vintage Coach Bleeker 9306 (unlined):

I think the Bleeker 9306 would be ideal for your needs at 15" Wide X 10" High X 6" Deep

It is my all-time favourite bag! The leather and quality are exceptional.

Perhaps a Patricia.. Lots of compartments and ample room for a 13" laptop. It's crossbody as opposed to a tote though.

I retired a couple of years ago but while I was working I found that my vintage, Madison BriefBag 4420 worked very well for carrying my laptop and office essentials. It is a sleek, stylish business bag that is Italian-made and lined with pigsuede. I think that it is rather luxurious but still made to function as a practical business bag.

It has an outside back wide slip pocket and a wide inside zip pocket and the 46" adjustable strap has a shoulder pad that can be positioned for comfort.

But if you also need to carry large files then it may not work for you. In that case, you might want to look at a more traditional Coach Briefcase.

The Drake Brief was offered in a variety of colors and it sure is a beauty IMO. You can see pictures of my Forest Green Drake Brief 4420 at the link below. I've also posted a few catalog entries for this lovely business bag attached to this message. Good luck!

There's another bag that I often used as a combination purse and laptop bag. It's not vintage but it's nice! It is the "Large Soft Retro Tan Glove Leather and Suede Borough". My bag is honey-colored leather and suede with rhodium silver hardware and the style number 32295 UE HON.

It worked great as both a business bag and purse but it was necessary to double the strap to carry it as a shoulder bag as shown in the picture below. This photo was taken on the commuter train on my way into work one morning.

You can see more pictures of this lovely bag at this link:
