They cost the same as any large hangtag. I don't know what the price is now but when I got them in 2018, they were $12, I think.

It was! There had been a lot of updates since it had been disposed of so at first I could only read the books that were on it; I couldn't connect to Amazon. I called Amazon support and they were no help. My son is tech savvy, and he told me how to install the updates. They were all available on the Amazon site, but you have to install each one in order. Once I did that, everything worked fine. Now Amazon gives me so many free books that I can't keep up. On top of that, they keep giving me digital rewards for bundling my deliveries so I can buy even more books.
I haven't totally given up on novelty straps. I've just never found one that works for any of my bags, or at least looks better than the original strap. Most of my bags don't have clip on straps.

Speaking of, I am in search of a candy apple red strap with brass clips, white top stitching if possible, for my small/medium embossed satchel, #7011, tia. There is even a low bid listing out there for the large satchel in this style, but it doesn't have the strap. Here's my bag ...
I'm not opposed to a fabric guitar replacement strap, but my brain is just really slow thinking out of the box on this type of thing. I have a brass-tone chain strap to use in a pinch.

I also usually depend on chain straps when I am missing a strap from a smaller bag - and I have gold, silver, dark gunmetal, and black copper chain straps to choose from - but chain straps are not really practical for a larger, heavier bag.
One of my biggest challenges is the missing strap on the British Tan Willis that I rehabbed at the link. the bag came out gorgeous but the missing strap is still a problem. Sometimes I use a 1/2" BT lobster claw strap from a station bag and sometimes I use a 5/8" BT dogleash strap from a court bag and they both work and look okay, but neither of them is correct for the bag and that kind of bothers me!
