I really don’t think the insurance will give me anything. Boxes arrived moldy and beat up in our last international move, so I packed everything myself this time. Boxes were still square shaped when they arrived

Howeverrrrrr, the insurance has no documentation of what was in those boxes. Just what I say there was, and that’s not good enough. They’ll probably take the total value of our shipment, divide it by number of boxes, and give me $200 per missing box. With a $500 deductible. Which pays out $100 in the end for over 50 missing bags. Sigh.
I initiated a trace. I really really hope I hear back. At least about the one that was lost since going through customs here in the UK. The ones that never made it on the boat in July, I have little hope for.
omg
@whateve. Mining gems yourselves for custom made jewelry has to be beyond the replaceable category of belongings. Luckily I packed a separate suitcase for all of our important files and mementos. I was torn tho, because sometimes luggage on a plane gets tossed around and lost more easily than (or so I thought) a crated international shipment. ‘Losing’ three of our boxes was not in my game plan.
