Thanks for this information. I'm sorry you had to find it out. At least if you get your bag back in original condition you won't be out any money.Thank you @whateve ! On Mercari, sellers don't pay return shipping. Mercari does.
I'm still hopeful that it's a remorse return because I found the listing and the bag appeared to have not been used.I hope the buyer didn't use it.Thanks for this information. I'm sorry you had to find it out. At least if you get your bag back in original condition you won't be out any money.
" ....your advice is not worthy as Coach did things that were out of the ordinary and I am Certain that this is one of them. PLEASE don't Mislead this OP with your ineptitude. Please show facts Like I have in helping this OP. "Just one detail I would like to correct. The authenticators here don't consider ourselves "professional" authenticators. To me at least, the word professional implies someone who gets paid for their work and who can supply valid certificates stating the item is genuine. We're right more often than Entrupy and several other of the major authentication sites or the fly-by-night one-person operations that couldn't tell a fake Coach from a real one if someone showed them pictures of the genuine item. Here's a good example from just a year ago, I won't include the "authenticator''s real or "extra" names or the name of his so-called service but feel free to PM me. I'm sure many posters here already know it.

Coach Authentication
Hello, I don't believe this bag is a Coach. Can anyone confirm that? Thank you!community.ebay.com
You can say that our record of accurate authentications is better than many if not most of the paid services, but we post opinions, not signed certified authentications. The only "proof" a member can upload to a selling site is a link to the post(s) where we've authenticated an item.
ETA - Post Number One in the Authenticate This Coach thread states:
"All Authenticate This threads on tPF are meant to provide assistance to shoppers who are uncertain about the legitimacy and authenticity of designer goods. The evaluations posted by tPF's members are only opinions that stem from personal experiences as shoppers and collectors. They are not legally binding or professional authentications and are not to be treated as such."
I wholeheartedly agree.@Hyacinth, thank you so much for taking the time to share these information and correcting me on the use of 'professional.' While I agree with your definition of a professional as a paid person, I think you and other authenticators' work on this platform is so much more special because you all are cutting out time from busy schedule to 'voluntarily' assess each case. I truly wholeheartedly believe and trust your (& other authenticators') judgement on authenticity.
I also see authenticators' true love for Coach and it's always so beautiful and precious to hear a thing or two about the brand in the process of authentication. I love tPF for that.
And thank you for the advice to include the link for proof!
I'm so sorry Aqua.Thank you @Coachaddict4020 for taking the time to read and respond to me! So sweet and thank you!!
Actually, it turned out that the buyer's reason for return was based on 'concerns about authenticity'. I was like, "???" It's so confusing that Mercari will send me one reason in email and later change their statement and says "primary reason was about authenticity". I told them that I had my bag authenticated by a professional Authenticators on this forum and now they go, "next time, try to upload those proof!" Yikes. I cannot be more disgusted. Where's my right as a seller! Why can buyer walk away with false accusations!
On Mercari, I think some buyers know how to return item they regret buying by using this 'fake' accusations. My time wasted and I'm now worried about whether I'll be receiving a swapped out fake item or damaged item. Not the feeling I was expecting to have before the holiday. ;-(

^^ *That* comment within the eBay authentication exchange. So many levels of wrong. Facts were shown. Sorry to bud in here but damn that man and his arrogance gets to me. I've had email exchanges with him.
Did I miss something? Is someone attacking you for it? I really appreciate that you shared them. I hope those catalogs stay posted. I've been too lazy to copy them all to my own files. For the record, I began posting catalog pics because I was lucky enough to score actual paper catalogs for cheap (less than $20 each shipped, and many for under $10-12!!!) over the last few years and I enjoyed sharing the info in them here with members. Period. No other motive than a love of knowledge and sharing it freely. As a former instructor, I have always enjoyed a good textbook.
I enjoy sharing my/our love of vintage Coach bags here and rehabbing them and have learned so much from this forum as well. I have gotten to know many lovely people here and shared lots of laughs.
Why not open source this information? Catalog pics are already posted on this site and on so many other social media sites and in seller's listings. I had many students who would use textbooks loaned out by libraries to save money. My flea market dream to find a box of old catalogs. Would luuuvvvv to fill in the gaps of our data base. So why not be organized and put it all in one spot? Sheesh.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I was joined, unsolicited, spontaneously, in this effort without any dialogue between us. However, it is well known the other "party"has already freely shared
more info, more pics, more catalogue info than I can wrap my head around.
There you have it folks. From the horse's mouth.Blame me!!! Flame me!!! My bad!!! For sharing information about a hobby I really love and enjoy, I will take the hit. Gladly.

No, you didn’t miss anything. I just wanted it to be very clear how the thread for vintage catalogs got started. And by posting this, it becomes a record so to speak.Did I miss something?
