Does anybody feel tempted by this (non-authenticated!) Basic Bag? I can't really justify shipping and import duties on another smallish green bag, but...I wants it! Could I live vicariously through one of you? Or maybe you could talk me out of it? Please tell me how impractical it is, how it doesn't fit anything and how the lack of compartments annoys you.

I don't seem to have a fixed bag personality. Sometimes I long for something bigger that would ideally fit my work lunch, at other times I challenge myself to carry the tiniest little thing that I can make work (the limiting factors are typically my inhaler and prescription sunglasses). I'm determined to give my poor Court a rest and moved into a Blazer. It's slightly shorter than the Mitchell Zip I'm lustig after, but a bit fatter. And the same color, lol. I can make it work for everyday.I love the basic bag... and the dark green colour is so nice!! BUT to help talk you out of it I would say it’s impractical if you tend to carry medium to large bags.

Does the narrow opening bother you when getting in and out of the Basic Bag?
My blue Janice was made in 2004 in Costa Rica.@whateve and @houseof999 question for you both because you have this bag. I found a newer, non-navy Janice with silver hardware. It's listed as navy but it isn't dark navy it looks like yours. Do either of you know if in 2004/2005 the colors Janice came in?
Do you happen to know what colors were offered in that style in the early 2000's? This one looks to be a 2005 in China. My blue Janice was made in 2004 in Costa Rica.
I don't know. My Rambler's Legacy is a lighter, more turquoise color that I don't think anyone would call navy. It was made in 2005 in China (Q plant code.) I don't think either of the blues showed up in any catalog.Do you happen to know what colors were offered in that style in the early 2000's? This one looks to be a 2005 in China.
Hmm, okay. I looks like a denim blue. I owned a Legacy bag back around that time in a similar color, I wonder what it was officially called.I don't know. I would describe my Janice as a denim blue. Maybe they made it more than one year. But it would have had to have been very small quantities since there are so few of them. I believe it might have been called Federal blue.Hmm, okay. I looks like a denim blue. I owned a Legacy bag back around that time in a similar color, I wonder what it was officially called.

Thank you for that information. Here is the bag I found, these photos are from the seller. I did purchase but just yesterday, so not yet in my possession.I think Federal Blue, Denim Blue and Wedgewood Blue are all color names that members here have used to describe that same color used in a Chinese or CR plant, but AFAIK no one has ever found a bag that still has the price tag and style name on it so all the names we've suggested so far are just speculation. If anyone reading this DOES have one of the classic styles in that color from 2004-2006 and that still has the original tag, please post a photo.
There's what might be a similar color here on a Willis from Costa Rica made in 2004, it has the "4" year code instead of "04", just like all the other CR bags from that year. I don't think there were any Costa Rica bags from 2005, the plant was probably closed some time in 2004..

My blue Willis in that same shade of blue is from the "0" plant in China, from 2004.

Does anyone know the name of this bag? What about the years that it was made.
