Talk to me about the Flannel Grey color- is it really a cool tone grey with taupe undertones, or is it more warm tones and looks taupe/beige in certain lighting? And is it hard to come by/rare?

I have the 9085 Duffle Sac in flannel grey. I've been in it for about two months. There are no taupe or beige undertones. I see it as a dark grey with a dark blue look in certain lights. I love it--it is my favorite vintage color.

The photo of the zipper is, on my computer, closer to the color IRL. The person who sold this to me told me it was sold to her as black. It is definitely not black but it is dark.

Flannel grey is one of my favorites! I’m really not good with cool vs warm tones. I added a photo with a British tan casino for reference.

Thank you both for your replies. I did some research on this and the rehab threads and based on the age, there is a NYC bag I am interested in that is gray in color, but it looks like it has some taupe/beige undertones. Now, could it be due to age/fading? Perhaps? I am not sure, but it is no where near as dark as Roro's and not as solid grey as VintageIsBest's.

I found the magazine photo with all the hangtags that represented the colors from the mid-80's and it looks like maybe it is the simple "Grey" color after all, which is lighter.

I’m fascinated with the details! I noticed on some of the bags, the little tab ends of your drawstrings have additional stitching and some do not.
Such lovely colors. Right in time for spring.
Good eye! Many fakes screw up the stitching around the drawstrings. I wonder if Coach realized they didn't need that extra stitching after awhile.

I learned that from your posts on AT! Also, the details on the keeper, that have the stitching on edge. It is the same with the keeper on the Sling bag too. There are a lot of listing for Sling bags that are fake. I always look for a pic of the keeper to see if the the edge is unstitched.
