i would leave negative feedback along the lines of “condition worse than pictured, ebay forced refund”. Possibly ebay took the money from the seller so she knew you were getting a refund and then it showed in your account?? Really can’t say, it’s weird.
Don't mention ebay actions in feedback. Any mention of a dispute can get feedback removed. You can mention that the seller was difficult to deal with.

It's all very weird. I think she was trying to get away with just a partial refund but was waiting for eBay to settle the case before she spent more money on a third shipping label to send the bag back to me. I am once again pleased with how ebay handled the situation. They were very apologetic to me on the phone and they didn't even need to be. This wasn't their fault.

Feedback is up to you. I think that since the seller was particularly difficult, she deserves whatever feedback you give. Not only didn't she accept your return, she argued with you, accused you of damaging the bag, and ebay was required to step in to ensure you got your refund. I'm sure she got a defect on her account.

Here is one possible scenario. The seller decided to refund you but only had some of the money in her paypal account and the rest was in her bank account. The money from the bank account could take several days. Personally I think this is a bad practice. I always keep enough money in Paypal to cover any possible disputes until I either receive feedback from buyers or a few weeks have passed. I really doubt this is what happened though, because if the seller had planned on giving you a full refund she wouldn't have escalated the case. If she had agreed to the return, she would have just checked a box, which would have given you a return label. Then when she got the return back, she would have checked another box to release your refund.

Did you return the bag? Did ebay give you a return label?
Yes, I returned the bag. When I requested the return, eBay said I had to wait until the 25th to ask them to step in if the seller and I couldn't agree on a solution. The seller accepted the return on the 25th and sent me a return label. She said she would inspect the bag when she got it back because she knew she didn't sent it out in the condition I was claiming it to be in. Total BS. Why would I damage an item I'm trying to return? I never heard anything from her, I just got an email saying I had a partial refund and that she had escalated. I feel like she made this whole thing so darn difficult.

I would recommend City, style # 9790, just the right size for iPad air, big opening easier to get it in and out, also rear exterior slip pocket for quick access to her phone. The style looks more sleek and modern than lots other vintage Coach bags.
ETA: Another thing to consider is to take the bag to your local Coach store have it customized with embellishments like flowers etc.

Thank you, LunaSilver! I think that is a good classic choice and I love the idea of her personalizing it.

It sounds like she escalated, hoping ebay would believe her that you had returned it in a different condition. I don't think that is how ebay deals with that situation. When I had a buyer return a completely different item, basically trash, they still gave her a complete refund but took a report from me that she had abused the system. Then they let me keep the money because it was a small amount. I don't think they would have done that if it had been more money. A few months later, I saw she had been kicked off ebay. I guess she did it again to another seller.

Ebay has a system in place for sellers who are on managed returns in which they get to choose to only give partial refunds for some returns if the items aren't returned in the same condition. But those sellers are required to accept all returns. Return requests for those sellers are automatically approved by ebay. The seller doesn't get involved at all except at the point of refund.

I had a small issue with my recent eBay purchase. The red prairie bag arrived today was listed as never carried. It was shipped in 2 regular envelopes, don't even have bubble padding. The bag was definitely well used, scuff marks on turn lock plate, interior suede was darkened from usage, lint and loose dirt inside pockets. The previous owner must took care of it so still in very good condition but far from like new. The primary reason I put a bid was the bag was "never carried", since I already have a black Prairie and a red Saddlery. Since I was the only bidder so I got it for $49 plus shipping, with import total to just over USD80.
Contacted the seller about the inaccuracy about her listing, she was very appologitic, and promise will be more careful in future.
So I let it go and still left a positive feedback about her fast shipping. After all I guess $80 still not too bad for a good condition red prairie.
