Hi all, quick question on order cancellation. I placed an online order 3 days ago for a vintage Alhambra necklace to be picked up in my local VCA boutique but received an email that my order is canceled. There was no reason given in the email. Has this happened to anyone?this is my first VCA order and I’m so disappointed 😔
You can call customer service and ask them, as they would likely know. I assume they likely sold out of the item before you placed your order, but there was a delay on their end in reflecting that on their website.

Since you have a local VCA, is there a reason you didn't go there to make a purchase with a local SA?

Hello folks,
I am lost between the VCR PERLÉE bangle the large model, wether to take it in yellow gold or rose gold. Everything i hve is only in Yellow gold so far. Im wondering if i buy the RS it will match with the rest of my jewlery which is all in Yellow.
Does the rose gold age well?does it match well with yellow gold?
Im lost, and this bangle was on my wishing list for years.
Do you plan on wearing it daily with your current YG jewelry? What is your current YG jewelry if you plan on wearing it together?

With the Perlée, I find it's best to try on different options at the boutique to really get a feel for it. I always assumed the Perlée Clovers Bracelet would be too chunky and uncomfortable for me, but when I finally tried it on last year, I fell in love. Even my DH said that bracelet looks like it's meant to be on my wrist, and he usually doesn't have much to say when it comes to my jewelry .

I tried on the small version as well, but it didn't do much for me.

I did not buy Perlée, but it is on my wishlist.

Yes I should have booked the appointment at the store. I thought to order and just swing by the store to pick it up, have done that before with Tiffanys. Will be making that appointment. Thanks!

Hi, I’m not sure if it had been discussed previously - would owners of Vintage Alhambra rings please post some mod pics (when convenient) and also if u r still loving ur rings after some time please? I’m wondering if the onyx ring will be a good and lasting piece to enjoy :)
I have a MOP one. I just leave it on when washing hands - too much trouble to remove every single time.
It is not that bad honestly. I didn't wear it a lot because I tend to wear my "quieter" rings.
I still really like it and no regrets so far.
Did consider the onyx version but fingerprints are more obvious on that it looks harsher on the hand than the MOP one.
To answer your question: I find it more lasting pce than the single motif pendant (my first VCA) in terms of versatility.

It’s not going to match your yg jewelry. The real question is will RG bangle look good with the YG pieces your planning to wear with it. I have RG sweet perlee and it’s aged just fine. Still looks new

For those who are not aware, a book about VCA was released, called The Van Cleef & Arpels Collection (1906-1953) last 24th of June, during the Paris Couture week. It's published by Atelier EXB in collaboration with VCA.

It's available here or here for purchase. I tried to look for US-based seller but I saw that only the French one was available on Amazon. I am not aware of this book being available at VCA stores.

It's also free to view online, at https://the-collection.vancleefarpels.com/ , although I found that it's quite challenging to navigate in a linear fashion, unlike a book, and some pictures are not included or are too small to view (you have to right-click and "Open Image in New Tab" to view a bigger version). Unlike the book, the website also has an audio part, if you're into that.

Since the cutoff of the book is until 1953, the jewelry collections you know and love are not there, including Alhambra, which was launched in 1968. They are planning to do a second volume that covers 1954 through 2000; the release date is not yet set, but they are targeting either 2026 or 2027. Since Frivole was launched in 2003 and Perlée was launched in 2008, we probably won't see them on the 2nd volume, either.

We are probably going to hear about the possibility of a third volume when the second is already out.

hi guys, a bit new to vca. wondering how often does vca hv price increase. last yr i got the yg guilloche pendant as a gift n LOVE it. Now i want to get the bracelet desperately but hv already spent quite a bit this yr. ik two years ago the price was around 5300, then 5600 and now its 6100 ish. i dont want to wait so much only for it to not even be worth it. so do we think the price will increase again this yr

Hi! Sorry for my ignorance but I have yet to explore the VCA world so I am very clueless. My 11 yr wedding anniversary is approaching and today I spotted a very decently priced Vintage Alhambra 5 motifs bracelet in MOP on yoogis closet so I jumped on it. My husband and eldest sons birth stones are both MOP so I felt it was fitting. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and texted a few friends about the durability but my only problem is that I do not live anywhere near a boutique. However my parents do but we don’t have another visit planned until around Christmas. My question is if I drop the bracelet off for sizing in the store can they ship it to me?We would stay with my parents for 7-10 days max and I’m sure it wouldn’t be sized in time. I know the bracelet is going to be ginormous on me as I have very small wrists.

You should visit the boutique to try on the resizing kit, which is essentially sample bracelets in different lengths so you know which shortening option works best for your wrist size. You can request the SA to have your bracelet shipped to your house after the adjustment instead of returning to the boutique for pick-up. Just remind the SA that you also want the extra links to returned to you too so if your wrist size changes overtime and you need to have the bracelet resized again, you got the extra links for it. It should be expected but never hurt to remind him/her and/or the workshop to double check for you.

Thank you!! And thank you for the extra tip on making sure I get the extra links back.

Depending on the boutique but you maybe able to pick up before you head home. My bracelet was ready for pick up in 2 days when the SA told me it would take 2 weeks 😆
2 days is very uncommon especially around the holidays like xmas. I've dropped off bracelets for adjustment at different months of the year in the the US, the average has been 2 weeks. The one I've dropped off after new year took 3 weeks. It's not dictate by the boutiques since they don't do the adjustments in house, they'd have to send it off the workshop in NYC or contracted jewelers.

@forgetmenot301 usually the SA would text you when they receive the bracelet back from the workshop. if you happen to be in town then you can drop by to pick it up, otherwise, they should be able to ship it to your house via FedEx overnight. Usually it requires direct signature so make sure you're home that time.

Guess I was really luck! I live in NYC so that may explain the quick turnaround.

Thank you! I appreciate all the insight! I’m also debating on contacting customer service and potentially shipping it in for sizing? Not sure if that’s possible since I’m not the original owner? Is that too risky since I’m not 100% sure of my sizing? I’m aware of the fee since im not the original owner/past a year. I’m not sure I can patiently wait until Christmas to get it sized so I can wear it

if you're going to be in town and able to visit a local boutique, it's much better to try on different lengths that they have available because vca only offer the adjustments in specific ways - 2, 4, 6, or 8 pairs of links removed. they don't just take your wrist size and take out random amount of links. i've tried their home service kit in the past - which you can send in your bracelet directly to the NYC workshop by putting in the service request on their website. It has the same est turnaround time as if you were to drop it off at the boutique, only trade off is you can't try on the resize kits to determine the right length. if it doesn't fit right, you'll have to send it back out for another adjustment, so the back & forth may end up costing you an extra month of wait time. and if your bracelet has been purchased for over a year, each adjustment is $180. the service fee is only complimentary if you've purchased the bracelet in under year. what's your wrist size?

you can check out this thread where people talk about the adjustment options - some options would result in uneven links between the motifs, so that's another consideration:
