Question:
Does anyone use Wolf1834 Travel jewelry case for their Van Cleef? Need recommendation for travel case that can accommodate 10 motifs, bracelets and earrings.
Hi! I use the Maria cube. Works great. I posted a lot about my love of Wolf cases (people are probably sick of hearing me talk abour Wolf).
Here is the link one of the posts showing the Maria cube. Works great for travel.

The VCA pieces I put in there include bulky pieces such as Lotus ring, Frivole BTF ring, the earrings, a 20, etc.
So yes... you can definitely put your 10 motif there. For my 20, I use the medium VCA travel pouch.

Thank you for the recommendation, I will look at the Maria cube.

How does this one look wrapped up? I only ask because of the large piece at the bottom so I’m unsure how it would look or if you would intend to wear it that way. I know the 16 motif is gorgeous wrapped. These pieces are spectacular even with a simple white t-shirt (that’s how I purchased the chalcedony one - I saw someone trying it in the store with a simple t shirt on and was like holy cow I’m in love). You don’t have to wear anything special and you put one of these long necklaces on - wrapped or not - and, for me, it transforms the outfit. Do you layer? Could you later this with your magic pieces (worn shorter) or 10 motif? Not sure what colors you already have but if they match that could add a new look and a fun way to wear it altogether. I love to layer my Alhambra.

Alhambra is casual and dressy. It sort of can be worn as both but I’ve never seen someone wear it and thought they were “over dressed.” I wear my turquoise 10 motif with bathing suits on vacation! But that’s the beauty of it all - I remember once Princess Kate wore her magic 6 motif gold and mother of Pearl necklace to the BAFTA awards - which are formal - and it looked perfect and beyond elegant. But worn day to day it also is perfect and elegant too!

I think the magic necklaces are all very special and if you love the piece it seems like it was a great price and a worthy investment. Does it have much wear on it? I wouldn’t worry terribly much on the after market prices and if they sell for less. These things ebb and flow I’ve noticed - especially with availability of the piece.
I am not sure how it looks wrapped - its not in my hands yet. I did see a picture where it was wrapped as a choker with a small motif in the center and the remaining motifs were long and that was pretty. Unfortunately I am out of the country right now until April and will not be able to see it in person, it was a good deal and the main reason why I picked it up. The listing said excellent condition hopefully it is. I posted here because I had purchase anxiety at first (instead of buying the 20 motif) but now I am happy. I love the chalcedony (on my wish list) and the turquoise! I bet they look amazing. I have the 10 motif hammered yg, carnelian magic, onyx magic, large frivole, single yg guilloche, and the zodiac to try layering with it. I kind of like wearing them on their own because its draws less attention; I need more bling confidence. I have many vca earrings to pair the necklace with, my obsession is collecting vca earrings. I do have the mop 2 motifs drop earrings and maybe for special occasions they can be paired with the 11 motifs necklace. Once I am home I will post pictures, thanks!!

Just fyi I was in VCA this week and the necklace you purchased was being featured in one of the lit glass cases on the wall - so they do actively sell the piece in store still (I think you asked about that in an earlier post). Totally thought of you. It reminds me a bit of a piece Princess Grace used to wear because of the large Alhambra at the bottom (I think hers was more like a clover and maybe attached to various necklaces but it was a large piece and worn at the base of her necklace). Congrats!

Hi! I think this piece is lovely, but compared to the 20, I think it looks busy. It's because the motifs are different sizes plus you have a jumbo motif at the bottom.

For me, I love love love the 20. The 20 is bold, but because all the motifs are the same size and space equally apart, the look is clean. The 20 is clearly a "long necklace" look and super easy to wear.

The necklace you posted is nice, but it's kind of messy to me because it is both a "long necklace" with varying motifs plus a "long pendant" together as one necklace.

My gut says since you have it in your posession now at home but you are still worried how often you will wear it, it's not a perfect fit for your lifestyle.

The main reason for me against this necklace is that jumbo motif at the bottom. If it was more like the long Magic 16 which is more balanced or the 20 motif (which I love 20s!), I think it would look nicer. That's just me though, and jewelry is 100% preference.

By the way, VCA mainline pieces are very casual... I wear Alhambra, Frivole, Lotus... all with striped tees and shorts. I would not worry about it being dressy. I would worry more about it being "busy" looking for your lifestyle. Busy is very different than being dressy, and this necklace is "casual busy" to me.

Just my two cents to share. Hope this helps, and good luck on your decision.
Hi, thanks for your response! Its interesting to hear different opinions I really appreciate it! I do not have the necklace in my possession, it shipped recently but I am out of the country and not able to try it on until April... I know that sounds crazy!! I do have someone to inspect it for me. It was a great deal and I decided to grab it. I have been debating purchasing the 20 motif onyx necklace for sometime now so this purchase will derail that for a bit unless I find a good deal once again. I love the 20 motif mop too but the main reason I picked the 11 motifs is because it is different and I think the larger motif will be reflective and pretty in person. I like the magic motifs a lot, I am not little in size and I think they look better on me. I don't see this necklace getting much attention, I'm assuming its not liked as much because of the layout or people wanting something more classic. I used to own the white gold mop 20 motifs, it was classy for sure but I sold it mainly bc I wear yellow gold. The 11 motifs being busy didn't cross my mind but I can totally see why, funny because it being unusual and not uniform attracted me! Great to hear you think it can be dressed down I want to wear my pieces as much as I can. Thanks again!

oh wow perfect timing! that's nice to know thank you! Was the large motif and the bottom much bigger than the magic necklace size motif? Did you end up purchasing anything?

From memory it seemed a lot bigger than the magic size - like it’s purposefully large and set at the bottom as the style so that one Alhambra is the largest piece on the necklace. I couldn’t say for absolute certain though and do not want to be incorrect!

I got a couple of things but was there to order the Ludo :)
