UPS delivered an EMPTY box!

This is weird, everything I’ve ordered from LV online has come signature required, which is fine for me. I order a lot online and this is one of those times I’m really happy we have a doorman/concierge in our building that handles accepting receiving packages for residents. Takes some of the stress out of package thefts!

Update: UPS finally contacted me... they picked up the box on July 22nd in order to begin the investigation and have since lost it! This is why there has not been any movement in my case. Still, this is not my problem, only another indication that UPS is seriously at fault.

This entire thing is ridiculous.

Absolutely sickening! I am so sorry!

This reminds me of a story of a woman I know. Well the UPS guy came to my home (I lived in Brooklyn at the time) and there was a delivery for my tenant. It said signature required. Well for some strange reason I didn’t want to sign for it; so I didn’t. Well the next day they re-delivered the package and she signed for it. She was expecting an engagement ring from Macy’s. Well low and behold she received her package. It was an empty ring box! You don’t know how happy I was when I refused to sign for that package. I could’ve been blamed and held responsible. Macy’s gave her another replacement ring where she had to go to the store to pick it up. They were investigating UPS. I don’t know the outcome because she moved.

Well, but not when it was stolen during transit and you get an empty box

Yes this is awful. Everyone trying to pass the buck on blame and you’re stuck in the middle of it.

I hope it all works out for you.

I'm so sorry UPS dropped the ball again. If they can't even find the empty box they picked up, you'd think they would just settle with LV and LV would refund you immediately. Definitely a good call that you got that chargeback going already!

As far as I know, UPS weight the parcels when they are going through, I would assume LV does the same, so the weight alone could be an indicator that it was stolen during transit, it goes through a lot of hands and just takes one dishonest person working for them, but you would think they have insurance for damaged or lost items, it is their responsibility.

If it was stolen by the driver or someone handling the package after the parcel had been weighed, then I don't think looking at the weights would help.

In that case, she could demand to see what weight was delivered to her and when the last weighting was, it might also help UPS to narrow down the culprint or where it went missing.

Update:

After 1 week of speaking with someone in escalations, I was transferred to a manager in escalations. She then contacted ups by phone and was told that they technically do not need the package to complete the investigation in this case (which makes sense with the weighing of the packages).

So at this point words can not describe my frustration. I’ve waited over a month for an investigation, to be told that it takes 15 days, to then be told they haven’t started the investigation because they can’t find the box, to then be told that the box wasn’t needed in the first place.

And I’m still waiting. I told LV that this has nothing to do with me at this point, they need to battle it out with ups. They both have insurance, and I’m the only one at a loss here.

Regardless of the situation, I’m done with LV.

And just for fun, I’ve calculated how much I’ve spent at LV in the past 5 months. 9310 CAD plus taxes... I’ve been a loyal client for over 20 years, I started buying LV when I was 17, I’m now 37. I’ve got years worth of shopping left in me. I shouldn’t be treated this way.

how awful. i am so disappointed in the way this has been handled by both lv and ups. terribly unfair to you. i hope things resolve in your favor very soon, but i can understand your not wanting to ever be in this position again. i would have expected better treatment from a company you have supported for years.
