So glad you got back your refund. I typically would send it to store especially after reading about this. But I got too excited and selected ship to home w the mm favorite. I just got it today - after 2.5 weeks and I asked UPS if I could open it first before accepting it they said no. They said they cannot release the package to me if i do not sign. He said I could open it after I sign but he won't be a witness if it was empty. I'm located in Canada. I was nervous but I'm glad to see the bag inside!

Thank you for confirming what I thought this to be the case. I have never heard a UPS driver allowing a customer to open a box before signing for it. They would then in turn leave upon you receiving your package.

Glad your package arrived safely. Can’t wait to see it.

I got packages from Gucci and it states, on the duct tape, that you should check the integrity of the tape before accepting. The duct tape should scare away the scammers at UPS. LV should do the same. Like so:

Most stuff like this is meaningless, as is videotaping yourself opening a package and so on. These companies wash their hands of liability in any way possible. Delivery drivers spend seconds at each stop. There's not much a customer can do to protect themselves anymore.

Final update!

I finally received my refund on August 22nd. This was for my original purchase that was made July 10th. Almost 1.5 months after!!!

So, after receiving my empty box on July 15th, waiting 15 business days for the ups investigation, then waiting another 10 days because nothing was happening, having the case be transferred to LV escalations, speaking with escalations for over 1 week, then UPS admitting they lost the returned box that was needed for the investigation, then speaking with LV management, it took another full week before I was granted a refund and then another 72 hours before I actually received my refund.

Did LV offer to refund the interest on my credit card? NO. Did LV offer anything to compensate, anything for good measure? NO

I’m utterly disgusted. Even after speaking with management, nothing. It’s awful that LV chooses to do business with UPS, then as the customer, I have to suffer the consequences of their business choice. Makes no sense and LV management did not validate this at all.

I’ve always received impeccable service from the stores, but online and customer service has been disgusting.

Thank you all for your support, kind words and recommendations. I truly appreciate it:heart:
I am glad it’s finally properly solved for you. But after so much stress and hassle, it’s becoming a real pain to shop online, which I do all the time. I guess I need to reduce my shopping to the bare minimum from now on. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I don't live near a boutique and so I am forced to order online. Last summer I ordered a Speedy 30 and had it shipped to my work address as no one is home during the day (we both work). It arrived at my works warehouse, the box was slit open. Just the tape part.
I thought oh no.\ but my warehouse guy has signed for it. Fortunately, everything was there. Other online purchases I have had delivered have been no problem. Still kind of makes me nervous though.

I just had the same thing happened to me last week. I bought a Marc Jacobs bag on ebay and when it arrived in New Zealand 2 weeks later, the bag (and its dust bag) disappeared.
Basically the bag was stolen somewhere along the way before it even reached New Zealand!!
Nzpost did an investigation and said from their scans there was no indication the box had been opened and when they weigh it, the box was 0kg (like Wtf, did they not suspected anything and just sent for delivery?)
Anyways its back to the sender getting insurance on her end as there's not much can be done on our end

BA3AE4CD-0A91-456F-8569-AF53FB763B70.jpeg Happy it finally worked out for you! I purchased an LV shawl online due to laziness... the condition is came in was scary! Threading on the side of the shawl was coming out, etc. I immediately took it to my local store and the manager was sympathetic and allowed for an exchange. He did make it clear it’s not a wise idea to purchase online...and that he was making an exception.

What he said makes no sense though... if LV warehouse sent you an item in unacceptable condition and you haven’t used it, he shouldn’t have to “make an exception” to exchange. Otherwise, LV should just say online purchases are final sale. (At him, not you!)
