UPS delivered an EMPTY box!

What he said makes no sense though... if LV warehouse sent you an item in unacceptable condition and you haven’t used it, he shouldn’t have to “make an exception” to exchange. Otherwise, LV should just say online purchases are final sale. (At him, not you!)
I agree!! I was quite annoyed lol. But it could be argued it was my fault that there were threads coming out... and that it didn’t necessarily come to me like that. These shawls aren’t difficult to ruin!

View attachment 4530866 Happy it finally worked out for you! I purchased an LV shawl online due to laziness... the condition is came in was scary! Threading on the side of the shawl was coming out, etc. I immediately took it to my local store and the manager was sympathetic and allowed for an exchange. He did make it clear it’s not a wise idea to purchase online...and that he was making an exception.
How can it not be wise to purchase online when LV provides that service??? Every major luxury department store offers online shopping and will back their products no questions asked, why is LV soooo different

I don’t think he had a right to say that since LV return policy does state online items can be returned to the stores. He was actually doing his job not making an exception and was rude for saying that. I’ve returned online orders to the store with no issues. I don’t know if he was mad that maybe the store was taking the hit for the return maybe?

Possibly... ‍♀️

So this is what I’ve been told; you can make online returns or exchanges in standalone stores. But, stores that are within department stores such sad saks, Newman’s, Holt renfrew... can only issue exchanges or credit notes, no returns, but they can send the items back for you

I was searching this forum, because this happened to me today. UPS delivered an LV package and when I opened the box the orange LV box was empty! I couldn't believe it. I then noticed the bottom of the box seemed tampered with. I've called LV and they've logged a ticket. Hopefully I get good news back. I paid with PayPal and my CC. Any tips on what else I can/should do?

At the moment nothing, but to show good will maybe also contact UPS, I hope you took pictures, as that might help or a video but then again nobody really thinks this will happen... I would just report it to them, say you have informed LV, then wait for a bit, if nothing happens or you are not updated after a few weeks, open a PP claim, that should work, if it does not, I would contact my CC

Thank you so much! I'll contact UPS about it, and see what happens the next few days. I ordered 2 other items from LV last week, and they were delievered with the item - no issues. So I'm not sure what happened with this one. I'll be sure to update what happens!

To venture a guess, somebody somewhere along the line recognized the sender and opened it and stole it, or it could have been a fluke or a mishap, however, a bit doubtful.

On 2nd thoughts, might be worth to inform your CC that you are not doing anything yet through them but there is a problem and should it not be resolved you will contact them regarding a charge back, this way nobody can accuse you of not having acted in time

You’d have to completely open the outer box somehow I would think since every item I’ve purchased has come in the outer box, then an inside drawer or flap over box with ribbon. Then glue the outer box back together?? In other words, they can’t just open the outer a crack & get the item easily out of the inner box unless they’re magicians... Scary to think this is happening but I’m sure somehow someone has found a smart way to steal. Sad.

You can contact your CC company and PayPal. But LV will start an investigation with UPS, this takes about 3 weeks. They need to track where and then the box was tampered with. They do this by reviewing each scan because the box is weighed during each scan. They will find the discrepancy. But it does take a while.

This happened to me and it took almost 1 month. And it is possible to crack open the box and pull out the contents and stuff everything back in... it happened to me.

It was a big box, and the bottom is easy to take apart since it's just glue. Someone could've easily opened the bottom, take out the LV box, put it back in and re-glue it. The top is perforated, and that's where you strip it off to open the box. Either that happened or LV forgot to put the item in the box or something else happened lol

I'm thinking that's exactly what happened to me! Thank you for the quick response! I don't even care about the item anymore I just want my money back.
