Another reminder to open your boxes BEFORE signing for UPS packages.
Yes- this is absolutely the best way to order online safely. I was the victim of a porch pirate years ago- Hermes.com sent a package worth 4 figures+ without a signature required. Completely stupid. And it was a real hassle getting the shipment replaced, filing a police report (which I had to do yet they were the shipper). And to top it off, they banned me from purchasing online from the H.com website- I have to buy instore even though it was their fault they suffered a loss. I have not tried to buy anything again online so I do not know if I am still banned but it is fine in any case.one of my biggest fears, which is why i have everything shipped to a store.
I am glad you got your refund. Sometimes it is best just to cut your losses and move on and take this as a lesson learned. I think your excruciatingly unhappy experience was a huge wake-up call for the rest of us to be very careful with online purchases and delivery by UPS. It is sad but true that home delivery is risky.Final update!
I finally received my refund on August 22nd. This was for my original purchase that was made July 10th. Almost 1.5 months after!!!
So, after receiving my empty box on July 15th, waiting 15 business days for the ups investigation, then waiting another 10 days because nothing was happening, having the case be transferred to LV escalations, speaking with escalations for over 1 week, then UPS admitting they lost the returned box that was needed for the investigation, then speaking with LV management, it took another full week before I was granted a refund and then another 72 hours before I actually received my refund.
Did LV offer to refund the interest on my credit card? NO. Did LV offer anything to compensate, anything for good measure? NO
I’m utterly disgusted. Even after speaking with management, nothing. It’s awful that LV chooses to do business with UPS, then as the customer, I have to suffer the consequences of their business choice. Makes no sense and LV management did not validate this at all.
I’ve always received impeccable service from the stores, but online and customer service has been disgusting.
Thank you all for your support, kind words and recommendations. I truly appreciate it![]()
For future reference, immediately file a dispute with your credit card company/bank. They will not charge interest while in a dispute status as it is investigated.Final update!

I’m glad you finally got a refund. Is the interest something you could work out with your CC company??Final update!

That’s a good idea. I’m going to look into that. Thank you!I’m glad you finally got a refund. Is the interest something you could work out with your CC company??
I mean, if you were disputing the charge before you owed interest, it makes no sense that even though LV refunded you, you’re still stuck with the interest right??That’s a good idea. I’m going to look into that. Thank you!
