UPS delivered an EMPTY box!

Don't all boxes have return addresses on them? I know pretty much all of the things I buy from companies on line have the address AND name. And of course, many places like Sephora and Nespresso and Williams Sonoma use big logo stamped boxes.

I have never ordered online from LV, so I dont know what their exterior packaging looks like.
The items ordered on line are packaged in a plain brown box and all edges are covered in tape that reads something similar to “if torn do not accept” the inside of the box is stamped with Louis Vuitton. I honestly never looked at the shipping label so I’m not sure about that.
The item I recently received - shipped from an LV store - came in a plain white box and it has similar tape but the label did have LV Soho listed as the return address but it was sent overnight so I think that’s the way the label prints.
I now ship all on line purchases to an LV store because I just can not guarantee I’ll be home to sign for it and it would stress me out. They hold all items at the store for 30 days so there is no rush to go and pick it up.

I order the majority of my items online and none of the online packages have any tape. It is a plain box that has a tear tab to open. There is no tape on it. It may be different if it’s shipped from a certain store. I’ve also had items shipped from LV stores that do not have that tape on it...

I guess it depends on where it’s shipped from?
This is the box I just received last week from LV Soho.
The previous brown shipping boxes from my on line purchases had a similar tape but brown with black writing - so I’m not sure.

Attention to all those receiving shipments in from UPS... I was delivered an empty box!

I had been stalking the website for the coin card holder in jaune and it finally popped up. I made it through the checkout process and received shipment confirmation a day later.

The box was delivered by my regular ups driver on July 15th. As he handed it to me, I noticed the side of the carton LV shipping box was damaged and torn. I didn’t think anything of it because I’ve received other shipments where boxes were damaged but the contents were intact, so I thought nothing of it.

So I pull on the tear-away price of cardboard to open the box the way it is meant to be opened, and I notice the advertisement insert for the new blossom was bent and torn. I take the gift box out and notice the blue decorative robin wasn’t on the box, it was bunched up and placed on top. At this point, my stomach turns and I know something ain’t right.

I proceed to open the LV gift box and I find....and EMPTY dust bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone opened the side of the box, managed to pull out the contents, take out the coin card holder and tried to put everything back inside!

So I’m freaking out at this point and call LV. So now an investigation is underway and can take up to 14 business days. During that time i do not get a refund or the item. Today, ups came to pick up the damaged box for inspection and we’ll see what happens.

I’ve received many very expensive shipments via UPS, 2 of which were Rolex watches! I never ever thought that something like this would happen. Neeldless ro day, I will be videotaping me opening every box I receive from this point forward.

Dear god! This has been a huge fear of mine. I have for a few years been recording myself opening any box that isn’t perfect or costs more than $100. This is insanity. I’m so sorry.

I received both a box from online and the store and neither had that tape on it....although I think it should be used to help

That’s so odd - I think the tape is good because it’s easier to tell right away if someone tampered with the box. Even the item shipped overnight from the Gucci store had a similar tape across the edges ::idk::

So I was in the store, the CA ordered me a bag to ship to my house. But the order went to the LV store, she said they ship it there first and then she checks it and then ships it out - not sure if true or not. But the box I just got does have tape and is brown. This is in Canada.

LV does deliver in an unadorned brown box but it is a somewhat distinctive box that I would recognize among other boxes so I do expect many UPS employees know that there is a designer item inside. I'm in Canada too and my orders always come from the US and are somehow brokered through customs by UPS or an affiliated agent. I am not aware that they ever get physically inspected the way items coming through the post office might be. I expect LV and/or UPS will give the OP the benefit of the doubt and make it right. It is something scammers try but scammers often trip themselves up (e.g. post a photo on social media with themselves wearing the "missing" item lol) and as well scammers often do it more than once. And for non-scammers like the OP, LV and UPS do need to take some time to investigate.

I agree, according to this thread, missing items happen often and this should be looked into. Everyone who handles these packages come from know exactly what to look for, even if it’s a plain brown box, the return label says everything LVNA...

Regardless, I’m sitting here, with no word from LV or UPS on the status of their so called investigation which was initiated on July 15th, the day I received my empty box. In the mean time I have filled out a request to have the charge reversed by MasterCard. As I said before, I’m happy I learned my lesson on a 400$ purchase than a 4K purchase. I will videotape myself opening every box from now on!!!!
