I just need better light. Daylight makes inspecting easier.
The ring in theory doesn't look different so I don't know if photos will matterBut since it's snowy out I might take a few lovely snow pics if I get time. Or am brave enough to be out there!
I didn't even wear it out of the store. I tried it on there, and tried it on at home but it's SO cold out that I am actually wearing gloves, which I RARELY do unless its say 10 degrees or less. And with gloves rings don't work well for me. So hopefully I can wear it tomorrow!
I've looked at it outside and under a loupe outside:
There's at least one weird scratch/crack lookin thing and a dent on this new ring, opposite side, within about a mm of the stone in the cathedral. I can see it well without a loupe but I can't decide if it's worth them fixing, bec they'll probably make it worse. And being in the cathedral I sorta doubt it's affecting the ring structure like I was concerned with the last one. I still see it, so hopefully it won't make me nuts.
They had to have remade this entire ring, head and all. My stone's not in the same "place" it was before and my inscription is hidden under a prong now.
And under a loupe there is that black paste gunk on the stone in a few areas, and on the pavilion is gunk. Hopefully I can scrub that out easily. Or steam it out or something. Dirt and gunk is not a major issue really.
Their polishing is definitely not as fluid as last time overall. The ring itself is just not as fluid/smooth as the other.
The sizing beads are smaller and really close together. Which is actually rad.
Prongs look even tinier than before. Which I also like. Though now two prongs are not fully touching the stone on top. And one is not really close on the side either, but it's welded to the cathedral so I don't think tightening that is easily done. They rushed this I bet.
Ill wear it and see what I think in a few days.
