Because so many people mentioned mixed reviews and more importantly, an established reseller sells 'used' bag to varying degree and I'd like a new bag. Being a first user and so on. Not looking for signs of usage. I hope you understand it.

Yes, I do understand. The first road gives me more items and ironically a better history so that I have a better chance of getting a second bag more easily. Through reseller I'm still nobody. Well, no one said it is easy.
I would advise to buy the bag in the United States if you are doing resale. From example, I know a lot of people criticize TRR, but all my experiences with it have been great. I ask them to ship a bag I am interested in to a particular store, they let me see the bag, and then I can buy there or on the site. They generally are strict with descriptions so even new brand new bags are not always listed as pristine.

If the bag is fake or description is incorrect, the likelihood you will get your money back from a big reseller in the U.S. is higher than in Europe. My experience with customer service in Europe has always been lacking.

I had an appointment at collector square, but ended up not going. I’ve seen mixed reviews.

Be very careful with Vestiarie Collective in Europe - they only give you 72 hours to complain.

My friend bought a K25 which went to the Authenticator. She received a K28. She didn’t contact them in 3 days, so they said they couldn’t do anything about it. They sold her a K28 as K25. Crazy.

Thanks for sharing your practices.
Question:
1. How do you know they don’t send you a fake bag that is modeled on a real one they get a bbbb cert for?
2. Since you’re wiring money, how do you know for there that they’ll actually send you a bag?

It seems like you work with retail shop resellers which hopefully gives some reassurance, but I’ve always wondered how people are willing to buy from Facebook resellers. Just so many steps along the way where fraud can happen!
I buy from Facebook resellers, but only from the ones that provide the BB certificate (and I am copied on the email when they request the certificate and I see the photos of the bag and can compare it when it arrives) and that accept credit card. I also bought from people that were selling bags they bought from the store, and I saw/got their receipts, received pictures/videos of them with the bags in the store and I met with them in person.

Hello,
I have a question that I hope is pretty quick to answer. I've tried to search the forum but I didn't see anything directly related. It may have been how I was searching.

I'm considering to purchase a Togo bag on resale. It has been touched up at a spa, not an Hermes spa.
I'm assuming that this will affect the resale value. I'm not purchasing it for reselling but I do like this option if in case I ever need to or want to.

I know this means that the H Spa will never work on it. I think there are some other spas that would be able to touch up the bag if needed, so my concern is not about getting repairs done if I ever needed to.

Is this something I need to be concerned about in a major way if I plan to love the bag for a long time but eventually will need to sell it (either for myself or my kids)?

Thank you so much for your input!

Yes, it will affect the resale value but it is also likely affecting the resale value now for you in a positive way. ie you should be getting a good deal on it and that deal with persist if you try to resell it later so its all a wash.

Thank you, that's what I was thinking as well. Yes I'm getting a good deal on it now. But it also makes me think, do major resellers like fashionphile or rebag disclose when these items are retouched? This is from a small private reseller so she's protecting her business. But I'm curious about how larger resellers handle this.

Will also add that please make sure that the bag is authentic & if you can get the bag authenticated
before purchase that would be to your advantage, also if you are able purchase with a credit card
for additional protection & this bag should be priced really well as @acrowcounted points out.
Resale value will be affected & that should be under consideration as this bag can never go to H spa, JMO

I've seen in some Fashionphile listings where they note that the bag as been dyed/repainted or the leather has been treated. Not sure about Rebag.

Yes I will definitely authenticate. Thank you for the tips with a CC and the resale issues later.

Thank you! I haven't seen this yet so I wasn't sure.

I've great experiences buying from TRR in the past several years even though they charge shipping both ways. Some of the negative comments I heard came mainly about consignment so I would be cautious about it. Rebag is also a good option and I've joined as a member to contribute monthly and they give you extra credit to use plus free shipping and returns.

Hello everyone! Been away for quite a while as life has taken over my H obsessions. I am here again because I want to give a warning on a resale shop and to possibly get some advice. WARNING: LONG!

I, in general, don't sell my bags on because I buy to keep but I have/had a 28cm blue jean Kelly bag given to me when my son, now 17, was born and a Medor clutch both which get no use. In fact, I seem to remember starting a thread here about the Kelly bag when I received it - gosh time flies! I didn't use it because it was small for my daily needs and for about a decade I only used 35cm birkins or crossbodies.

I gave the bag to my mother to use and forgot about it until this past October when my mother gave the bag back to me and said she really was not using the bag and perhaps I wanted it back. I knew that I would not use it because the colour and thought why keep in when I could sell it and use the funds to put toward something I would use. I am uncomfortable selling on eBay and did not want to mail the bag anywhere so looked locally to sell it. I live in London and knew of a shop in Chelsea which has been around for many decades and seemed to have a good reputation called Sign of The Times.

I will truncate the story because there are quite a few tos and fros and say I dropped the bags off in person and they confirmed the bags were in excellent condition and they bought the Kelly in particular would fly out of the shop. The bags needed to be sent to the head office for assessment and I would hear back. I heard back after a week and a half and they said they would not be able to sell the bags - I thought odd, but perhaps because the bags were too old for their parameters despite their conditions. I was told a date after which I would pick the bags back up in the shop. I went. The bags could not be located. Phone calls made, the bags were apparently at the warehouse and I needed to contact the head office to give my home address and they would be couriered. I called, they then said the bags were definitely in the shop and I needed to go back to the shop. I went back to the shop. Bags not there. I emailed one again, the person said she would personally go the shop and look. I called next day - bags not found. They said they would compensate me and to email the receipts for the bag. I did so. this was in the second week of December and despite initially saying I would be paid at the end of the week, I was told that I would not be compensated until January 10 due to the holidays.

New Year. I emailed to remind them of this and to comfirm that payment would be made on the 10th. Yes, yes. I emailed on the 9th. Now they say the person who originally handled the case was back from ??? and was looking for the bags. Give them until end of day Monday to locate the bags, If not found I would be compensated. I emailed Tuesday to get an update. No response. I called and left a message. No callback. It is now Wednesday and after a further unresponded-to email and 2 calls straight to voicemail, I am panicking. How could this happen and what do you ladies recommend? Going to the shop is not the answer as they would just fob me off the call head office. I don't know where this office is except that it is in Battersea.

In any event, do not trust the Sign of the Times in Chelsea (and online internationally).

@creme fraiche I know the shop you mention-It used to belong to a lovely lady named Lorraine for many years and changed hands probably about 5 years ago (or longer) and has gone downhill (in my opinion) under the new ownership.
I believe the current owners also own a similar buisness outside london called Timpany's.
My advice would be to put LOTS of comments on their social media pages and also to go to the shop and refuse to leave until you either get your bags (if head office is in Battersea they could courier them to chelsea within miniutes or even walk them there) or a bank transfer for the value of the bags.
I find it odd that they did'nt accept your bags when they have some old Hermes bags on their website -Did they give any reason?
I would also go so far as to advise that you suggest to them that you go to their head office and look for the bags yourself.
I don't imagine anyone within the buisness has been dishonest and stolen them but my gut feeling is that they probably have the bags 'somewhere' in the office or shop and need a push in order to look properly.
Meanwhile I think social media and your presence in the shop are your best options for a resolution.
Keep us posted and good luck.

@creme fraiche! I am so sorry this has happened to you. If they do not pay you ASAP, I would make a demand not for the cost of the bags, but for REPLACEMENT VALUE. You bought these bags a long time ago and were in good condition. It sounds they are not dealing with you in good faith. If they do not pay by a time certain, like yesterday, your demand is replacement value.

I would do what @haute okole and @maxroxxherhandbags are suggesting.

If that does not work, is the combined value over 10000 pounds? If under, I would contact Citizens Advice and see what they suggest, maybe you can file a small claim without an attorney

In the U.S., TRR lost one of my necklaces and they paid me the amount we had agreed for the item minus what they would have received as commission.
