Ahh interesting. Were you able to authenticate the bag and prove its authenticity at least?
I did ofcourse get it aunthenticated and that was fine. Selling a bag as brand new with a premium reflecting just that when it is not new at all is unacceptable to me - hence the warning. I would just keep that in mind when dealing with this reseller.

Purchased a bag from her that was sold to me as "new" when it was not new whatsoever, it was 'like new' (there were signs of wear all over the bag). I was unfortunately desperate for a certain color combination that had been discontinued while I was waiting on it from H otherwise I would've never gone ahead with it. Her response to that was "we didn't notice the markings during our quality check" and offered a HKD5,000 discount on my next purchase. I obviously never purchased anything from her again!
Sadly speaking, "condition is very subjective" & unless one is working with a reseller who knows
what condition would be acceptable to a known/repeat client, a situation like yours is very commonplace &
compounded by the explanation, "we didn't notice the markings during our quality check"
falls very short & sorry for your experience, JMO

I've both bought and sold beautiful bags from the very well-known high-end pricey resellers. Two of the bags I sold, to two of these different resellers, listed the bags as new. Since they were my bags, I knew they were not. It's always buyer beware, no matter who you purchase from.

I'm looking to purchase a Birkin 25 in box calf leather, palladium hardware - a dream bag! I'm looking at the second hand market because I don't have a relationship with an SA in Miami. Does someone know the cost of this bag at retail? I'm trying to compare it to the cost second hand. I'd also love any pictures or thoughts people have on this bag!

In the US it’s $16500 before taxes, in Europe I got one for €12900. I’m in love with it. Although I didn’t have a chance to wear it since I got it.
I recently saw a post on instagram that one reseller is currently selling black B25 box but with GHW brand new for $29,990. Ouch.

What a helpful group you all are - thanks! Does anyone have experience or feedback on reseller, Maxuria? I believe they're based in USA. I couldn't find anything when I did a search (may not be doing it correctly :shrugs:)

I've never purchased from a reseller, so wondering if you have Bababebi authenticate before the purchase or after? If before, do you typically put a downpayment or hold on the bag?

I can't comment on this particular reseller, but in general:
1. I would always get a separate authentication from BB prior to purchase, regardless of what the reseller says about the item's authenticity (unless they already can furnish it for you (and even then, if I didn't know them, would verify)
2. If there is any issue with them providing the correct photos, saying it's not needed, etc., that's a large red flag. I have dealt with resellers who have offered to deduct BB's fee, should I buy the bag in question- that's a standard I would look for. ( Just because they are that positive of its authenticity, did NOT stop me from getting BB's opinion, BTW)
3. I would never send money ( wire, CC etc.) as a down payment contingent upon an authentication etc.- but that's me.
4. I have sent photos etc. to BB for authentication and just waited until I hear ( usually her turn around time is excellent), and only then seriously considered purchase. If it's gone, so be it. What I have found is, with H, there's always another wonderful bag waiting.
Hope this helps!

Very helpful and appreciated. I will definitely follow your suggestions.

FYI - I attempted a chat conversation on Maxuria website about the bag I was interested in and I never received a response. When I logged back into their website this morning, I see that they increased the price of the bag by $3000USD. Not sure if this is a typical practice in luxury resell sites, but I'm going to give it a pass as I believe there are other reputable resellers who do not play this game.

Dear all,
I forgot that - correct me if I'm wrong - shopping from the majority of the popular resellers means vat, customs.
Do you know (maybe you're from Europe yourself) which ones you don't pay taxes and so on for because of EU?
Thanks in advance
