I really like that a couple of the trusted authenticators who have posted here have some instructions in their signatures. It designates their status as trusted authenticators and with every post they are reminding people that there are formats and procedures associated with asking for authentication.

(I realize a not-trusted authenticator could do this too but this is where the mods would step in and ask them not to)

I am glad to see I am not the only one that sees this as an issue. It really would be great if newbies were allowed to attach jpeg files so we can authenticate their bags for them, rather than losing them to another forum, where the CAN upload jpeg files. . My main reason is for being able to help these new members.
The rest of you are bringing up even MORE valid reasons that I never even thought of! I truly hope this can be adjusted and everyone will be able to attach jpeg files of their pics. Too many don't know how to use photo bucket. Good points!

Sorry to be late on explaining this, but there is no restriction for newly registered users to upload JPG images (up to 500KB in file size). Proof.

A user should be able to resize images on their end, if they do not know how, they can rely on an external image hosting service like imgur.com to host the images for them. Unfortunately our software doesn't support seamless resizing of large uploads (yet). :excl::?::excl::?::excl:

That, and frankly I think each sub-forum should have a "trusted authenticator" list, as determined by the mods or admins.

While I am all for it, there may be potential liability issues involved, so I can't approve this without going through legal.:rtr::rtr::rtr::rtr::rtr:

Are you sure Vlad, because it was always part of the advanced features in the past, and new members can't use advance features until after so many posts. I remember this being a problem for me when I first joined and we have several new members telling us they can't upload jpegs. Maybe that is why, because the files are too big? But I remember not even seeing the option to attach a jpeg. I was only allowed to post links to pics. Has this changed I hope? If you are certain of this, it must be the size of their pics. Now we know what to tell them, thanks!

Will changing the wording from "trusted authenticator" to "known volunteer authenticator" eliminate potential liability issues?

P.S. Thanks for the April Fools' Joke!

I wonder if Vlad's test user was able to upload because although it didn't have the minimal number of posts, it's not a newbie, having been registered since 2011.

My test user has the same permissions as a newly registered user, I made sure of that.

Yes, in the Longchamp sub forum I see members can post pics, have just one or 2 posts and have just joined the forum. (for example, posted 1/1 and joined in Jan of that year)

We are working this out with our legal team so we can figure out how we can denote these authenticators! It is currently ongoing :D:tup::yes::wave::coolio:
