Plenty of threads on quota bags, including in different country's variables.

@Mr. Ex or anyone really. How do I go about moving my wish list to another store? My SA has become super unresponsive when I request items (which are not Quota bags) and if he is not responding to me when I ask for general products I’ve come to the conclusion I certainly won’t get very far in my quest for a Kelly! Can I just go to another store and start one there and have the other cancelled? I’m in London for reference

Hermes allocates bags (and all other stock actually) by the store’s budget which is determined by prior sales amounts for that store. So the more people that shop at a store and the more they spend, the more inventory that store will have. It all boils down to the same thing statistically. And, H only puts stores in communities that can support them (ie every time I hear “there are so many wealthy people in city X that I have no chance there” I cringe a bit because there are many super wealthy people in every H region…) There are only, what, two or three? H stores south of NY/NJ and north of Florida to theoretically serve all of the mid Atlantic coast so KOP has plenty of strong customers, I’m sure. Also, someone in an H FB group did an informal survey last year asking people where they successfully got a quota bag and Madison NYC was the top/easiest store, even beating Paris, after hundreds of votes (albeit the group is mainly US centric). :shrugs:
PS if they are shipping items to you in NY, NY sales tax will prevail so you won’t get that savings anyway.
Thank you! This is really informative. I didn’t realize that the more clientele = more inventory. Although, now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense.

I just feel like a tiny fish in a sea of sharks so it can be intimidating against people who know the brand and have been with them for so long.

I typically have all my purchases shipped to my CT address to get cheaper tax so it saves a bit if I make a large purchase.

IMO only, the reason to keep a consistent SA is for best quality service and to eventually build a profile for a future quota

It has been my experience in NY that a less busy store will simply have less to offer and more competition than a flagship. It could be a longer wait if you want a high demand quota bag, but if you are flexible, it’s not an issue. Whether you get a quota offer that you accept is more a function of the strength of your individual SA relationship than sky high spend. Find an SA; be consistent, realistic, communicative, patient, pleasant, and polite, and you will get an offer, no matter the so called competition. Even in NY.

I have not been to Wall St recently, but I just visited MTP out of curiosity, and there is far less merchandise. However, if you need shoes, MTP shoe area has better air conditioning; is more airy, and is less claustrophobic than the attic shoe area at Madison (Honestly, if I recall correctly, decades ago, when Madison used to be a Limited, I think they put their sale merchandise thst no one wanted up there)
Thank you for your answer! Sometimes it’s tough connecting with a SA as I feel they aren’t as friendly or helpful. That’s why when I went to the KOP location, I really connected with the SA and loved her patience with a beginner like me. I didn’t feel rushed like the other locations.

It’s good to know that MTP has a better shoe area!

I believe that the wishlist has to be placed at your home store and cannot be moved.
you would need to start a new wish list.
i am not certain however so hopefully you will receive a more informed opinion on this.

We all start somewhere. Fish grow up and sharks don’t live forever. :)

if you also post your query on this thread, someone might have advice specific to London :)

Hi,
I got an offer for a Kelly, but am currently on vacation, thus cannot pick it up myself. Is it possible to send a relative, who is also a client at the same Hermes store, to pick it up for me?
TIA

hello! During lockdown last year, my hubby and I couldn’t pick it up. Our local boutique SA knows us well and I sent my hubby’s business associate ( crazy I know but they are more best friends)

he has never stepped into Hermes and he had a sticker shock on the B however I was told it still applied to my allocation for the year. Hope it helps and I think sometimes exceptions are made ! ❤️

Hi! I have been looking at Hermes for a while and have recently started my collection (mostly accessories). I live in NY but recently went to the Hermes location at King of Prussia. I bought two belts from the SA there and really liked how kind/informative she is. She also gave me her business card as I mentioned to her that I would like to purchase from her in the future.

Do you recommend continuing to build my profile with her even though she's quite far from me? Most of my purchases will probably be remote as I probably won't get the chance to visit often.

Also, if I would like to purchase from her, is it possible for her to have the item shipped to an Hermes store close to me?

Thank you! Reading this thread is so informative.
Hi! KOP is my local store and I agree they are so nice there. I'm not after a quota bag but I have purchased other bags, SLGs, shoes and fashion jewelry from that store. My SA will order me the smallest value item or find for me if I ask with no issues. I appreciate it, as I'm in no means a huge spender, but it's nice to be treated with respect. I would say if you're not after a B of K, stick with KOP.

I really appreciate your response! I’m happy to hear that KOP is a great store!

I really appreciated how comfortable they made me when it came to asking questions and trying to figure out what to get. I probably spent an hour in there and they were so patient! I walked in only planning to get one belt and walked out with two since I had a great experience, and felt good about purchasing from them.

I will want a B or K maybe down the line but it’ll probably be a couple years later. I’m in my mid-20s and just starting my Hermes collection so I’m not looking to spend $10,000+ on one item at the moment. Maybe Birkin 30 for my 30th?

Hi ladies!

Not sure if this should go to the "Maintaining a H Relationship" thread (I checked there and didn't see anything on this topic) but it's a question I've batted around recently. I used to shop at a boutique that closed in 2016. During my last visit, I was told one of the SAs who was moving to another location would work with me, but after the boutique closed life got in the way and I never reached out to the SA or heard anything further from them. I've recently wanted to dip my toe back into the H pond (I'm loving the AW scarves and shawls), and found the SA who worked at my former home store on Instagram. I'd like to reach out to them to see if I could start working with them to purchase some things, but I would need to do so remotely--I'm a 3+ hour drive from the store, so at least initially I wouldn't be able to pop in regularly. Do you think it would be okay to reach out this SA through Instagram to reconnect and see if I can email them to work with them? This SA's account is public and they post Hermes related posts a good bit, so it doesn't seem like they are trying to separate their work life from their Instagram presence, but I wanted to see if anybody had any insight on that front here.

Thanks!

I'm not an expert, but since their account is public and they posted Hermes related topics, I think it doesn't hurt to ask! It might also be good to call that store and ask for the SA since it's more the "official" route?

Hi everyone!

Recently re-started my Hermes journey with a local store SA. I have purchased some SLG's at other H stores when traveling but decided to focus on my home store now. However, my partner went to check out and provided his phone number but the SA has my number. Can I still build a relationship using my partner's number and will that hurt my chances to get wishlist items? Do I need to use his number every time I check out?

Thank you!

The top of the receipt will show the client’s name for whose profile the purchase went under. Profiles are separate so if it doesn’t say your name, his purchases won’t go toward helping you get a bag under your name. You‘ll need to decide which profile to use going forward and will likely need that person to make the payment each time from here on out.
