TODS lover thread II

I just got my Tod's D-Bag Shopping Media delivered today from eLux. YEY!!! I absolutely love it! My question is this: This is my first Tod's and my first purchase from eLux. The bag did not come with the authentication card. Is this a big deal? Does the card have any identifying information (like serial number) specific to my bag? Also, does anyone know when this bag was first released? It is the restyled D-Bag Shopping Media in the pebble grained leather with subtle sheen and contrast topstitching.

Thanks in advance. Reading all of your posts about Tod's totally reassured me that I made the right purchase and now that I have it, I LOVE IT!!!

My D-bag's handles also do not seem to be softening much, even after carrying it almost everyday for the past 3 months. I even treat it with leather protector/softener. :shrugs: i wish it'll soften some so it's more comfy. but one question, does the rest of the leather on your d bag become super soft? mine isn't able to stand on it's own anymore. it becomes a soft puddle when i put it down, esp if it's not full.

Post some pics so we can :nuts: at it! :tup: it is hard to tell the release date without an actual picture of the bag. they make it every season in different colors and textures too. my restyled d bag comes with a card, but the card is pretty general, as in no serial numbers etc. all the numbers are printed on the inside of the bag. :yes: but show us some pics, we can clarify it better that way.

Some fake Tods for your viewing pleasure... The most clever fake I've seen before was an older style bag which was perfect in every way but it had the JPTods logo on the inside and the TODS logo (minus the JP) on the outside... or was it vice versa? Anyway, the company dropped the JP and the only bags that have the JP have them in both the outside and inside logos.

Most of these are pretty bad as you can see. I reported the first one of these before but it popped back up on ebay 2 days later so feel free to report after everyone's had a day or so to look. I wonder why the UK site seems to have proportionally so many more fakes than the US site?

The first 3 are FAKE but the last one is authentic.

The 3rd one down is a fake and it's confused, it doesn't know if its supposed to look like a TODS or a Balenciaga Day bag:roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao:.
It is a good idea to look at these, because it will help spot a fake. Notice the nylon zippers? That is always the giveaway even on a good fake.

hi viewwing...it is very similar. i got it in the black and there is a light color topstitching. i also saw it in the champagne/sand and LOVED it but they were sold out of it the next time i looked so that made the decision easy for me. haha

LT bag lady...thanks for the info on what your card contains. as long as it isn't anything identifying for my specific bag, i can definitely do without it. :smile:

i will try to post pix later when i figure out how! :confused1:

You bag is beautiful. The D bag got 'Restyled' in 2007. I purchased mine in London July 2007 at the boutique.
