^ It's so interesting to me how many people have said that ^ kuz my mother would be the last person on Earth I would give a bag or anything I own. Chaos is her name. And she destroys and misplaces everything on her path. She's a natural disaster...

Oy, aren't you my lost daughter Zsófia?!? I might have misplaced a daughter or two along the way... (and where on Earth you get all those awesome smilies?)

Joke aside, I'd wouldn't mind lending to my 2 friends (it's highly theoretical, as my friends are several timezones away). But I'd never borrow, because a., I'd be terrified of wrecking it (the worry would spoil all the fun of carrying it), and b., I'd hate to give it back (otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to borrow it to begin with, KWIM...)
I don't like to borrow stuff (other than garden implements or such), it's kind of an inhibition.

no way never. i am a selfish person when it comes to my things, and would not lend/borrow ever. one exception is my daughter, when she is older, i do expect to share my bags/jewelry with her/pass them on to her.

I've only done this once and it happened last month. My sister was getting ready at my house before a night out on the town and she had one of her big purses with her. I actually suggested that she borrow my Gucci travel wallet/clutch (that I had never worn) for the night. Because she was my sister, it was no biggie and she gave it back at the end of the night.

I never borrow only because I will use any excuse to buy a new purse! But if a friend asked to borrow one of mine, yes, without hesitation. I trust my friends - otherwise, they would not be my friends. And if anything happened, well, it's just a purse and I can count on my friends to make it up to me. All of them know they have free access to my closet.

I think it's interesting that no one has answered "Yes, Always" to the poll, and despite comments here, the majority answered the poll "No, never."

Wonder if most of us have learned the hard way. Perhaps it's inevitiable that lending ends up burning everyone at least once.

Of my nice bags, I would only loan to one friend (the lovely kallison), my mother-in-law, and my mother. I doubt that my mom would actually want to borrow any of my bags, given that she prefers her thrift-store buys, but I have loaned a Michael MK to my MIL with no hesitation. She took excellent care of my bag. I wouldn't hesitate to loan to K either since she is a PF'er herself. Anyone else would either not be interested in borrowing my nicer bags or I'd not be sure I could get them back in the same condition I loaned them out in.

Inexpensive or easily replaceable bags I'll loan out to any of my friends, though I rarely get asked to loan them.

I have lended out my bag and borrowed one bag from my best friend. I will say that it is not an everyday occurcurence though. We exchanged bags to sort of do a test drive if we liked that particular style. it was for about a week though.

I would borrow my mom all of my bags, because I know she will take good care of them. The same with some of my friends.

I would only borrow bags that are durable and that I can afford to replace, if something were to happen to them.
