my husband is a jeweler - i clean all my diamond jewelry this way as the other ladies have said- - - - windex. plain ol' windex. soak the ring in a small cup of windex for a 10-15 minutes, swoosh it around, take it out, rinse it with water, dry it off = beautiful shiny new ring! trust me - it works FINE!

Warm up some water in the microwave and add Dawn dishwashing soap and soak it in for a while. Use a soft brush. Rinse and Blow Dry to avoid water spots. Windex does wonders too.

Im a bit of a cleaning psycho. I own a professional steamer and a professional ultrasonic but what I use most often (I use the big guns every couple weeks) is this spray called Sparkle Sparkle. Buy the kit to start with though bec you want the little brushes. That stuff rocks.

you can buy it from nventa.com

BUT since it's your wedding day, Id go a couple days before your wedding and say "hey can you clean and polish this up for me for my wedding" and I bet they'll do it. Take it to a reputable shop and they can do it in moments while you wait.

wow, professional steamers are awesome!

I have an ultrasonic cleaner used by jewellers (my jeweller got it for me) and I clean my jewelry every time after I wear them - hardcore but my diamonds are always sparkling!

I use a mix of half windex and half water with a squirt of Magiclean.

I'm really paranoid about the Windex....is there anything you shouldn't use it for?? Would it do anything to the rhodium plating on white gold??
What is the specific ingredient in Windex that works?

HAHAHAHAHA right ON! When I got engaged I was all sweating what to use to clean it, and the dealer chuckled and said to use windex. He even admitted that's what they use and then put them under the lights! The cleaning agent that works the most in it is ammonia, but that is waaaaaay harsh for everyday cleaning.

Windex, girl. And it's cheaper than all get out, too. Bonus!

Hmmm....I LOVE when everyday house products have multiple uses...... That's a cool tip. It's nice to know that Windex is safe enough to use on your rings, as the dealers also use it.:smile1:

Windex sounds like a really good idea! So do the soap ideas, but make sure you rinse really well- soap can stick to diamonds. For your wedding, I'd get a jeweller to clean and polish it- they should buff it too, which makes it look new!

i leave my e-ring and diamond band in the jewellery cleaner for a few mins, then take them out, go over them w the little brush, and wipe clean w a paper towel. i always find that there are little smudges of cleaner left on the stones. any better way to do this?
