Hot water, dishwashing liquid, and baby toothbrush. I have been doing this for years, and one of the owners of a jewelry store on Madison Avenue told me this is what they do, too. (They have very fine antique pieces and some new).
I use SparkleSparkle that fellow forum member ^^AME has recommended to me. It is amazing! It cleans and shines like nothing else that I have ever tried. Is non-toxic and and actually seems to repel dirt. I have all of their solutions, after trying just the gold one, I had to try all their formulations. The only one that I have yet to try is the delicate one for pearls, because I cannot get passed being told for years to never clean your pearls with any type of solution.
It uses a little spray bottle so the rest of the cleaner does not contaminated. I have given it away to all my friends in my special little 'new & neat' products basket that I make up for close friends each year.
Thanks again, AME!!
