ThredUp Selling - Luxe

I am so late to understanding this now. I was wondering where all the high end designer stuff was coming from on thredup and just thought maybe they were fakes. Its coming from their luxe division and then being posted on thredup. I haven't sold anything to regular thred up in years and sometimes peruse the site. Now I know the high end stuff is more thank likely legit.

I just sent more items to real real. I think I will stick with them for now. I don't like how thredup likes to undercut sellers.

I use both websites, for different types of things. What do you mean by undercut sellers?

I try thredup, leave thredup and try it again. I just don't learn, haha! This site is a joke-they give pennies for items that held high retail value. Done.

Well for the LUXE items you can set your own prices. For non-LUXE items, I don't use them unless its something not worth my own time to put up on ebay (i.e. if it's worth less than like $20 resale I'm not going to bother, so why not just sent to them and get a few dollars with no work on my part). Or if it's something I've had sitting on ebay for a while and hasn't sold.

This was for luxe items, but apparently 11 are coming back to me with no explanation. The other items are being listed for pennies.

You know you can change the price for items on consignment right? Go to your selling history, click on the bag you sent in and then click on "adjust price."
They actually only took non-luxe items. Being unable to speak to a human being is very frustrating so I do not know why my luxe items are being returned. I am not changing the prices for the consignment items because frankly it isn't worth the effort. I do much better on the Real Real, who offer more realistic pricing for my items.

It honestly takes like 60 seconds to click through the links to change the prices.
But yeah I agree it would be better if they had phone customer service you could reach more easily. If you email [email protected] you can ask them to tell you why your items weren't accepted if you want to know.

I’m happy to report that I sent in a bag, it was processed in two days and they took everything! Just waiting for them to post to the site... not even going to adjust prices. I did include a list - thank you to whoever suggested that! Luckily I didn’t end up needing it since nothing is coming back. Now for them to sell...

I have found that the LUXE bags do get processed very quickly, which is nice. There are still sometimes mistakes in the listing descriptions, like condition or what the MSRP is (even when I include packing lists with the info), and I have to contact them to have to that corrected but they have been pretty responsive. Things are moving for me but very slowly right now...hoping it's just "no buy july" and will pick up for fall next month. I will say that they still seem to be losing items. They were supposed to be sending a dress back to me because they said it had a stain, but it never appeared and they couldn't find the tracking so they just paid me out. Then this morning they lost another item that they had already accepted for listing and photographed (somehow got lost after being photographed?) and I just got another payout. As long as I am getting paid out I don't care if they throw the stuff off the Golden Gate Bridge. I just feel bad for whoever has to explain to their accountant why so much stuff is getting lost from the warehouse.

ANNNNNND they just lost a third item of mine. This is 3 individual items from 3 separate boxes...I think someone in their warehouse is indirectly using me as a personal shopper. I'm just shrugging because every time something gets lost they give me an immediate payout and I don't even have to wait 14 days for my funds. They probably need better security or employee screening though. I will continue to use them as long as they continue to rectify the problems with minimal effort on my part though.
