Weird - I didn’t! It’s only dresses though, that’s a bit odd?
Looks like it’s all lower end brands too. I presume it can’t be the same inventory as on their site because what if someone on eBay buys an item someone on the ThredUp site is hoarding in their cart?
Seems like a lot of work to list all those items individually on eBay for low end/low margin items.

I didn't know that either! Interesting. Thanks for sharing that. It does seem like a lot of work for very low margins.
I don’t trust them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they paid out pennies or even if the items were “rejects” which they claim aren’t good enough for sale; yet they sell them anyway. With a few exceptions, my opinion of their business model can be summed up in 2 words: “greenwashed theft.”

I agree with you. When I started sending them things about two years ago, I got some decent pay outs but the pay outs have gotten worse and worse and it is literally pennies now on pretty nice things so I am selling the nicer items myself on Poshmark and donating the rest. At least I get the tax deduction.

I sent them some things a few months ago against my better judgement and they lost an item in their warehouse move and then had the nerve to offer me a pittance saying that it was my fault it didn’t sell because I had priced it too high.

No, it didn’t sell because you LOST it! The nerve; to lose my item and try to blame me instead of taking responsibility.

I was furious but eventually fought for a fair payout and they gave it to me after a lot of effort and documentation on my part. I have no doubt in my mind they just screw sellers who don’t fight them back hard.

I think you are right. I sent them a small, perfect condition contemporary bag . . . and it disappeared. POOF! Never made it into my inventory. I actually didn't notice right away and had zero recourse when I finally did realize a few weeks later. Fortunately, not a very expensive item but still.

Why didn't you have recourse?

Why didn't you have recourse?

You know, I guess I just assumed I didn't since it had been many weeks since the items were posted and it was basically just my word that I had included the item in the bag originally. This was back when it was taking months to process a bag and I just forgot about it. It wasn't worth a lot but I should have followed up.

Anyone still have any luxury pieces on TU and are they moving?
Granted I pulled all my non-final sale items (and a couple of items on 24/7 reserve--no patience for that anymore), but the rest I still have is sitting. I think that they are doing a lot fewer coupons--only coupons for specific items which I think are those they have paid (less) upfront for and are not on consignment, and sales are going to a slow a lot for this. All of their marketing is about being "thrifty" so they are not really attracting luxury buyers and only penny pinchers who aren't going to spring for the luxury items.

^^^confirming my last post, their memorial day weekend promo is no globally applicable code and only selected items on sale at different amounts off. Their big holiday sales used to be site-wide promo codes.
