I think it might be what other posters have mentioned, she’s been cycling bags for YouTube content and to raise her profile as an influencer. Whilst she may not actually have the funds to do so hence all the random selling on eBay.
She stated herself in an email she had overspent. So probably wanted the sort after b25 in rose Sakura to unbox on YouTube then sell for profit and recoup some of the money she has spent on other items. I think that’s why she may have come across desperate or intense as she may have really stretched herself financially.
I don’t think this video is helping her case she seems to lack self awareness. She even said at the end that she didn’t know if they would still offer her a bag. It’s a lot I genuinely feel sorry for her SA, retail is a tough job even at a luxury fashion house.

Sadly it seems like she is in denial... She does not want to accept how she could be coming across.

” A perk I do expect also” says it all. She’s defensive and refuses to listen to constructive criticism. She’s also seems to be controlling and highly emotional. I think Ms Stressa is right about Mel shopping to fill a void.

This rings so true. Sadly, there are a lot of over-demanding people and lonely people, and shopping fills a void for some. And when someone really wants an item, it can drive them to obsessive behavior. I had a client in my field ask for my personal cell phone today! Boundaries are there for a reason.

On another note, I've mostly lurked on the forums here for some time, but this thread drew me in, so I guess this is the start of my forum journey. I learn so much here, so thank you all for your knowledge!

It’s a sad world we live in. Technology and instant gratification has made people desperate for immediate responses and after hour contact. We are all overworked and under appreciated. And yes, do post more

Knowing about the reselling puts a different slant on this for me. I’m feeling less sympathetic than I was initially. Selling freebies is really tacky IMO.
I don’t understand, did she really think the store would be unaware of her social media activity and her eBay store? Surely not? :confused1:
I’m not going to comment on her finances because I don’t know, but her quick flipping of the “dream bags” she was offered shows they weren’t loved or appreciated, and that for me is the very simple explanation as to why more weren’t offered.

I agree with you. I checked out her eBay store and wow... literally selling packaging only along with make up samples and fake items! Also, I checked out a couple of her other videos and the clothes she wears are really cheap. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily but it’s like wearing forever 21 clothing with a birkin... I just feel that she doesn’t have sufficient funds and really needed the dream bag to resell which would finance the next round of purchases and YT content.

So I commented saying she looks like a reseller and she said she had post natal depression and body dysmorphia but now she wanted to add a pink b25 back after she sold it.(she literally sold all of her bags though but ok) I also asked about the packaging and freebies and she said there’s nothing wrong with selling empty packaging instead of throwing it away. Then she deleted all her comments and said a brand shouldn’t treat their customers like crap.

The thing is I can now honestly see why HR phoned her. She expressed she was depressed over the situation and sounded desperate in her emails. But she also said she had post natal depression, a new mom, had over spent previously and needed a break and also had skin cancer. All in the middle of a global pandemic!
I think HR reached out just to absolve themselves of liability. Even the crying in the YouTube video it’s all a bit odd and overly dramatic.

I watched her video an hour just after it was posted, which is about 1am my time whew. Late last year when I want to start my H journey, I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos on how to score. I did like her video, how to score H hard and fast.. and among other H related videos. I didn’t have H store nearby, so I was gonna do reseller route, but I was not sure who’s reputable or not. I messaged her via Instagram about reseller questions, and she was very responsive and knowledgeable. I thank Mel for that and for sharing all her H knowledge. Anyway, I chose the store bought H journey route instead so I can be fully 100% sure it’s authentic. I did follow her how to get H tips and I can say I did get my B25 after 4 months.
Back to my thoughts: I have heard many times that Australia is very high competitive, so maybe 2-2.5 years wait is somewhat normal in a sense? And in this case longer patience is required especially asking for highly sought after items. Also, her emails are very long. Personally, I always dislike reading long emails, I get lost, it’s frustrating to read and understand, you just wanna get over to the next email. Keep your emails concise and your wishlist on bullet list or something.
if she really want a B/K/C in a specific color, size, leather, why not go reseller route. Isn’t that’s the advise youtubers and influencers tell us?

I agree with many of the previous comments.
I like Purseonfleek’s videos. I find them informative and I adore her personality. I watch the whole ‘H, I’m done’ video this morning. Wow! There was a lot to digest and it was sad and heavy. I‘ll begin by saying, if HR’s approach was as aggressive as was stated in the video, H should’ve approached the subject in a kinder fashion. It sounded as if H was accusatory, and the company didn’t ask the YouTuber’s perspective.
Now for my gut response. If I had been her SA, I would‘ve felt overwhelmed- maybe felt my job would’ve been threatened or my name trashed with other clients. The Email correspondence felt quite passionate. Her wants were many and seemed never ending. On this forum, I’ve read about people waiting well over two years for their dream bag. Personally, I don’t understand spending $$$$$ just to get a bag- I’ve had offers without spending a lot on bags I really wanted. From the beginning- my SA’s have been incredible during my six year relationship w/H.
I don’t want to nitpick her Emails. She loves the brand and wanted special products to represent special occasions in her life. IMO, and with all do respect, she just needed to chill a bit.

So true,
She did got offered HER DREAM BAG twice + 3 or 4 bags on her Wishlist.
How many dream bags a person want ???
Would the list of dream bag ever end ?
1, 2 3 or 10 ? or more ??

The sell your grandmother on eBay and get a new one, and filming life frame by frame is unfortualtly common now. H will have to get used to it, especially if they want to attract the ever-younger crowd they've been focusing their marketing power over the last few years. A few of us are guilty of wish lists that go on and on and on infinitum.

Not just to do with YT, other SM or publicity, I wish Hermes had not escalated this. Hermes has some very difficult customers, their retail and CS training should give guidance for all staff on how to deal. The only way to deal with difficult customers/situations IMO is to defuse.

We've all hated H at times. It's the other side of our H-love. Hermes is French, and it's not surprising the company know how to bring out both sides of passion :winkiss:

It gets worse. She’s actually selling Hermes packaging, bags, boxes, ribbons, dust bags and the free lipstick samples. But she’s also selling fake twillys, LV and Chanel cap toes on the same eBay page! All linked to her social media!
Honestly she can’t see why this is a problem and Hermes might not offer her a bag? She already stated the store manager blocked her on social media which means he’s seen her page.

OMG, that's true....
I just found her Ebay seller name
I cannot believe that she is actually sell those items ....
WOW, that is the next level of "LOYAL CUSTOMER TO THE BRAND "
nope not at all

For me, I think both sides are wrong.

Hermes could've handled it much better. If they were more direct about her chances, then I think it would at least give her some sort of answer as to whether or not she should continue to hope. At the very least, they could've said more directly that her inquiries are a bit too frequent for the items that she is wanting. If they really wanted to, they could also hint to the reselling. I don't feel like it needed to be escalated to that point. But then again, we do only have her side of the story.

As for her, it was really obvious from the emails that her SA grew increasingly uncomfortable as time went by. I guess it's always easier to see these things when you're looking from the outside. But I feel like she was given hints and just did not take them into consideration. Calling out what others have recently purchased at that exact store is really bold, regardless if you also had it on your wishlist. It feels so confrontational. Now, I get that she's upset. She hasn't been offered a quota bag when she feels that she has done all that needs to be done in order to receive an offer. It would make most people frustrated. But also, just because you want an item that is in the store, doesn't mean it's for you.

TBH, if there was a specific bag I was looking for, I would probably go the reseller route.

I would like to know, ( be honest )
Does anyone really really shop at Hermes without the end result of getting the " a bag offer " ?
seriously ???

Yes, i have a whole list of fine jewelry, shoes and csgm scarves, not to get a bag but because I want the items. I’m not interested in a bag now to be honest, am happy with what I have.

A couple disclaimers... I'm old fashioned to a degree when it comes to posting publicly on the internet. Also, I didn't watch the video.

In our 2nd hard lockdown last year (I'm in Australia), I discovered influencers in general and started to look into what behaviours they exhibited to drive them into posting the 'content' they were posting. Yes, I am very late to the party (I also discovered last year the Dior saddle had been relaunched in 2018).

So I came across this account. Put it simply, it appeared to me, items purchased generally get resold down the line for whatever reason. There is the audience that fuels the need to keep buying and producing content. I don't post this vindictively, I do believe there are deeper seeded issues at times. I just don't understand how they feel safe posting everything publicly.

'Influencers' like this are a dime a dozen. I do not know how they have such big followings.

Everything has to be posted and shared, there is no decorum at all. It is all content; no matter how repetitious.

Or that said I'm just odd. I'm sure if it wasn't interesting, there would be no following.
