OMG! What the heck is going on with this company? Who does Coach think they are? Word travels fast these days...don't these boobies know that?????? Raising prices on items without notifying customers is ILLEGAL! Horrible customer service is UNACCEPTABLE!
I'm blacklisting Coach. I'm done.
And as my mom likes to say, Coach needs to learn the old adage...don't pee in your own bathwater!

I'm with you.

Like I said in my previous post, I am in sales too (outside sales), I sell MUCH more expensive stuff than a couple of stupid purses and I don't act like this to my customers, I treat my biggest and my smallest customers the exact same, I am never rude, and it's just not acceptable to be rude. and to top it all off, I work almost totally on comission, so I should be pushy but I'm not, and guess what my sales are better for it. the Coach sa's dont even work on comission. And to top it off, if a customer called my boss and told him I had been rude, that would have been it. Coach managers are ruder than the SA's it seems. Not good customer service at all. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? The biggest trick in sales is to shut up and listen, customers will tell you what they want and need, not the other way around

sales is just not that hard, but you should not have to give your hard earned money to some stupid SA who like the other poster said probably dont make enough money to even shop there (my apologies to the SA's on here, but I know many of you does this as a second job for extra money)

As for the whole reseller debate, they shouldn't care. If it's not stolen or obtained illegally, the buyer should be able to do whatever the heck they want with it, sell it, give it away, take it in the backyard and set it on fire, whatever.

I just found this on the net....we're all just being mindless sheep, or so Coach thinks so. They just don't need my $$.

Coach Can Double Market Share by 2010

Posted on Sep 28th, 2006 with stocks: COH

Yaser Anwar submits: Handbags are fashion statements, and women everywhere pay big dollars to carry the latest ones, be they Jimmy Chu, Fendi, Gucci, Marc Jacobs etc. One handbag isn't enough. I continue to see ample opportunities for Coach (COH) as it further penetrates the estimated $4.8 billion US market for luxury handbags and small leather goods. Japanese luxury consumers provide significant growth potential as well.
Investors can expect COH to double its market share there to about 15% by 2010. Expectations are for 20% sales growth in 07 driven by store expansion, a low double digit increase in same store sales for US retail locations, about $475 million in Japan-based sales, and a 15% gain in the indirect channel.
Coach has an array of products, from, of course, handbags to wallets, briefcases, outerwear, belts and shoes. It’s targeting the younger, hipper generation with iPod cases and letter charms.
I see favorable sales and earnings prospects for COH, which, in my opinion, warrant a premium valuation to peers. Same store sales advanced 21% in 06 vs 18% in 05 and 17% in 04. With 12% at retail and 32% in factory. As COH adds new categories, I think product diversification, increased store traffic and purchases at higher average prices will support a five-year EPS compound annual growth rate of 25%.
Coach’s average handbag retails for $250. But its new Legacy collection, which will be introduced in October, will average $325 a bag. To keep consumers always interested, Coach has been continually launching new collections. Its latest, released in July, is the Signature Stripe, which features lightweight, reversible handbags with a bold stripe and the interlocking C signature pattern.
Let me fill you in on its market share. Coach is the "numero uno" luxury accessories brand in the US, with an estimated 23% share of the $4.8 billion market in $100 handbags.
This sub-segment of the handbags and accessories market grew at an estimated 17% pace in 05, following a 30% YoY gain in 2004, and 23% in 2003. COH was able to outpace industry growth and add an estimated five market share points in the 02-05 period, as it executed its five pronged multi-channel growth strategy.
The Japanese consumer makes up about 40% of the global luxury handbag market. COH estimates that it currently has 8% of the domestic Japanese market and aims to increase its share to 15% over the next five years by opening new stores.
Coach recently announced a 23% increase in net sales for its fiscal year, along with a 38% increase in net income. And with a goal of increasing its share of the US upscale handbag and women’s small leather goods market to 33 percent in the next several years, investors should continue to see substantial growth from Coach.
COH is pursuing two key strategies to strengthen its leadership position and build lasting market share: increase global distribution emphasizing its NA and Japanese direct retail distribution and improve productivity.
Over the next three years, COH plans to add 100 North American retail locations, bringing the total to over 300 locations. In Japan, COH is implementing a multi-channel model similar to that of the U.S. COH believes North America can support approximately 400 locations, and Japan, at least 180.
COH management has four initiatives to maximize productivity: 1) Intensify awareness as a gift resource 2) Develop under penetrated categories and emphasis new usage occasions 3) A merchandise strategy that provides the opportunity to graduate stores from core to fashion and fashion to flagship and 4) enhance store service levels.

So really, decrease quality, increase quantity, and sucker us all in to buying a higher priced item with a lower quality standard. Churn out more bags, and to HELL with the customers. "Oh they'll buy it, BECAUSE it's Coach!" BLAH! Boo on them!

I just found this on the net....we're all just being mindless sheep, or so Coach thinks so.

I totally agree with you CitCat, (being treated like mindless sheep).
This thread and all the posts to support it have solidified the way I was already starting to feel. Prices going up UP UP, and quailty going down DOWN DOWN. I work hard for my $$ and COACH does not deserve it.
I really think I personally am done with them :death:

I'm just sick of paying $400 for a bag that costs a company, manufacturing in Asia, $25.00 to make and to be treated shabby at a boutique store to boot!
It's ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a bag and to receive horrible customer service.

OMG, that is a terrible way to be treated, I agree with Court, when a customer buys the bags, it doesn't matter what they do with it, Coach should not have any attitude or problems with whatever we do to it. Which means even if we have a 'Coach bag' bonfire, they shouldn't give us any attitude. :p. I feel so angry for you right now. Do write a professional letter and show them that you have cc'ed the consumer bureau, better business bureau, and better yet, some reporters etc. I think the media will have a field day with this hahah. And also include this thread in the letter.

I think Coach is getting really arrogant and cocky because of their recent success. It is time to remind them that without us consumers, they are nothing.

After reading this thread yesterday, I marched into the boutique and returned my pce purchases. I was treated rudely, of course. I then went straight to Nords and pre-bought a gorgeous cranberry leather Cole Haan bag which will be available during the anniversary sale. I love Nordstroms!!

Good for you for choosing to return the stuff!!
Congrats on the Cole Haan, cranberry sounds beautiful :graucho:
I've purchased only COACH exclusively since the early 1990's so this will be kinda weird for me, not looking to see what they have out and such...
but also exciting cuz now I can't wait to see what all the other brands have to offer!

I got mad with Coach when I walked into one of their stores one time, looked for a leather bag and was wandering around kind of lost when an SA said (looking pointedly at my handbag which was a Dooney) "Maybe you'd like to look for a cheaper bag?"

Now I feel unhappy to buy a Coach even if I see it in TJMaxx for a fraction of its original price.

Oh, and please don't forward this thread to anyone at the company, or make copies and send it. Vlad and Megs don't like things like that happening.
