I'm sorry you were treated so badly - it's tough when an incident can put a bad feeling on something you love. (It's why I've been diversifying my purse collection and have let a few other brands in to my world - LOVE LV and Burberry thinking about Dior next.)

There is this one SA at a Coach store who rushes up to help and then he seems to go out of his way to make me feel like I'm not good enough to shop there...he's the ONLY one who does that! Go figure. I nearly returned my loved Keri sunnies the day after I bought them because he made the purchase of them so unpleasant.

If I understand correctly you want gift boxes but don't want the tags cut off. I don't 100% understand that but wonder if gift receipts would work for you? They will giftwrap and provide gift receipts.

I hope you can find a way to make peace with Coach - or actually - I hope they can find a way to make peace with you.

Sending you good thoughts - keep us posted on how it turns out.

That is a really terrible story and really sorry it happened to you. That is so out of the norm for coach, especially at a store. With all the purchases that I make at coach, I always get such EXCELLENT customer service that I applied for a part time job there. The service that they give is awesome, I can't believe that happened to you. What I would suggest is that you write a letter of compliant to the corporate office, calling them will only make you more upset but I would not cut coach off just yet. :ban:

ms-whitney....if it's not too much of a problem, could you maybe see yourself transferring to the Coach store in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut? I'd LOVE for you to be my SA! :flowers:

And to you PyAri....who freaking cares what you return...you would think Coach would keep a record of how much you purchase and keep rather than the percentage of any particular return. Because at the end of the day, you are one HELL of a customer. One I would think any company would attempt to make very happy!

Chin up, you are indeed better than them and please do not be sad! You have done nothing wrong, you've only been treated wrongly.

I can't :( but I wish more tpf ladies were around my area! If you're ever in sf, ca look me up!

I think the best shoppers are the ones who love to shop and love coach. Sure, people with lists are nice eg guys shopping for wife or friend for friend oversea

But shopping with someone who is unsure allows me to show off my coach knowledge!

Speaking of, look foward to some cosmetic pieces and body lotion if this hasn't been mentioned yet...its coming soon!

it's stuff like this that makes me call an sa who actually gives a damn. do i care that i have to wait for shipping and it's not "instant gratification"? hell no. it counts for A LOT that i get off the phone and feel good about myself. last time at the boutique, i didn't get so much as a freaking "thank you, have a good day" for buying that geranium satchel. wtf?!

life is too freaking short to feel like crap over junk like this.

hang in there, pyari!

I have had a similar experience with customer service for Coach. Don't be surprised if you get a call from someone who actually is in a position of power. The .com and 800 number are not very good anymore. In fact, since my issue took place, the .com people won't even return my e-mail questions, but when I call they kind of have to talk to me (especially if I don't tell them who I am). Stick to the stores with the best customer service (the one in Washington is FANTASTIC and the SAs are super friendly) and forget anything else.

I am so sorry, PyAri. I used to work in retail and it is totally unacceptable to be treated this way over some stupid boxes. As a loyal customer and a big spender, even if they don't ship boxes, they should have made an exception for you. Exceptions are made in retail all the time and that's how you know that you're truly a special customer. Don't let those rude people get to you b/c you've done nothing wrong. And if they don't value your business, take it elsewhere where the customer is really the KING !!! Hang in there !!!

Wow I kind of expect this type of behavior from the sales clerk because half the time they hire these amatuers with no sense of what customer service means but from corporate now that's just plain tacky and unjustifiable. I would take this further until I get the results I am looking for. I can't stand this type of behavior. One of my biggest pet peeves is poor customer service.

Just an idea, but perhaps you might want to get Consumerist.com in on this. They seem to have some awesome effects! Also, perhaps letting Coach know that you plan to put it out to such a huge audience that they are acting a fool about some boxes and just generally being rude to someone who spends that much money may help your situation.

I would write a formal letter to Coach. I"d send it to to:
-Management at Jax
-Customer Service
-Customer Retention
-See if you can find any upper vp's names (maybe from stock reports) and send it to them.

Make this a detailed, letter. Firm but polite. In the end ask for what you want from Coach that will "make it right".
Good luck. I wouldn't stand for this treatment, it's awful!

PyAri, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I haven't experienced the rude treatment you received, but there is just no excuse for CS to treat you that way. There are other brands out there, so I would definitely consider changing to another brand. I myself have started buying Balenciaga. Although they are much more expensive, I find the leather to be nice enough to make it worth it.

I hope you get some satisfaction with Corporate on this matter.

I know they can give you a gift box and not cut the price tag off.

I ordered the Small Denim tote from teh store while I was in there and he said Do you want this as a gift, I said I want the tags left on but I want the box.

And on the reciept I got it says:

Remove tags? No
Gift Box? Yes

But either way that is so rude how they treated you. Knowing me I would have gone off on them and would have been so pissed and probably would be calling all day to harass them. LOL
