Gah, so beautiful!!!! I miss mine, dark handles and all… I wish I had known back then that I had options to fix!
Belated thanks! Yes, it's on my list to visit a haberdashers so see if I can find some chic but sturdy "plain" ribbon. For those that know London, when I was a teenager I spent hours in VV Rouleaux and now it's coming full circle!@ny.lon , it was always my understanding that H spa will not lighten handles or work on the interior. I assume that H will only replace a handle. So this may affect your decision to use twillies or go bare handles. For fun, bargain, Covid era deals, including box, swift, vache naturale, and barenia deals, I’ve had @docride correct suntanning damage; lighten handles; recondition interiors; etc. Darkened handles are a big pet peeve of mine. I do not use twillies. But, unless a bag is epsom. I’ve pretty much stayed away from lighter colors (I did buy my mom a togo 30B craie, but she tells me she uses it sparingly)
I use both @docride Spa and H spa depending on scope of work and amount of customization I desire. While I have personally never had a bag rejected from H Spa, acceptance by H spa is not guaranteed. I agree with the general TPF recommendation that one have no third party professional spa work done if one wishes the best chance that H Spa will accept your bag for service. Since I buy my bags to use and don’t really care about resale, I’m fine with taking the risk. Pls feel free to PM me if you would like other details.
Some of my bags that have had handle color correction outside of H spa. The second and sixth pic are of two different bags: a 35B and a 32HAC (I’m fond of metallic and custom color)

ETA: I believe @papertiger or another member once recommended using grosgrain or other ribbon in the same color as ones handles for a more neutral look, but I haven’t tried this myself
That is a really nice contrast and I love the way you have tied it!Recently found a great deal on a Kelly in rouge H from 1970. It's pretty beat up but I decided to keep it.
I wanted a twilly to protect the handle from further damage. We went to Lille yesterday to get one. I had a rather classic dark blue one in mind but when they show you all sorts of styles and colours I always get terribly indecisive! My husband actually decided on this one. Didn't really think much of it at first but now I believe the modern look contrasts the old lady perfectly!
It's the Fanfare en Parade marron/rouge/blue.
Ooh, which Twilly is this, if you don’t mind my asking? Love it and it goes so well with your bag!
