opinions needed. do you prefer the look of one twilly on the front handle of a b25 or should i twilly both?

my sa twillied my front handle, and i love it. but the consensus was both handles would be too much?!

im not sure i agree. i might need to buy a matching twilly. thoughts?
I may be a contrarian, but I put a Twilly on the back handle of my B25 (when I’m using a Twilly on it). I find it’s harder to close with Twillies on both or just on the front one.

As I posted before, I am not really a twilly on my Birkin handles kind of girl, so I tend toward simpler sleeker designs. I'm glad I did so on my Parchemin B because I recently had to re-wrap one of my handles.....imagine my shock when I saw just how dirty the exposed part of the twilly wasm in comparison to the part that was covered. Can only picture what the handle of my bag would have looked like had it not been protected!

@calicocat sweet! They're just the best.

From what I can tell, there are the following dogs on the en liberte:
Dalmation
CKCS
Border Collie
Jack Russell
French Bulldog (appears 2x I'm pretty sure, front and side profile)
Couple others I'm not sure

Definitely a twilly for dog lovers. It is the only reason I purchased this. I prefer designs that 'blend' more.

@WingNut, if it enables you further, the French Bulldog is perfectly placed on the twillies to show prominently when tied! The ckcs is hidden when tied.

Well then I shall go forth on a hunt for these lovely twillies in an appropriate colorway. Because, Frenchies.

Speaking from my own experience, I don’t think it is a good idea to leave the Twilly wrapped on the handle for too long…

I am not in a particularly humid environment, and I have humidity control in my closet, but there was one time when I left a Twilly wrapped on the handle of my Kelly for about a month… when I finally remembered to unwrap the Twilly, the painted leather seal of the handle became sticky!!! I immediately brought it in to a store to let the craft person check it out. The craft person told me that it would be fine this time since it was not too sticky, just let the handle air out, and the problem should resolve on its own. However, he also cautioned me that the leather needs to breath, and recommend to take the Twilly off everyday or every other day after use. Our hands sweat and the humidity can get trapped in the silk and soak onto the leather. If it is left on for too long, it will eventually damage the handle. Hermes can always repair or replace the entire handle, but that will not be cheap.

From that point on, I always unwrap the Twilly from the handle of my bag everyday. It is annoying to have to constantly wrap and unwrap it, but with practice, it has become a type of soothing therapy. I hope this helps!
This. Left a twilly on my kelly swift handle for a couple of months, when l took it out, the handle was slightly sticky. All is good now after airing for a few days but it got me panicked for a while. Now lm removing my twilly after using my bag (sometimes l go without if lm too lazy to redo it).
Question for @880 : do your handles turn dark without twilly?

No, I wear all bags naked, without twillies.
i bought my gold swift 30B as a bargain fixer upper; it came to me with slightly darkened handles that @docride lightened and cleaned for me. since Then I’ve had no issues keeping them pristine, but I rotate my bags and none get too much use. My swift handles on my boutique picotin are also without any blemish, and that bag has been carried on ski vacations, in some rain and snow. I don’t touch any bag with newly moisturized hands. And I’m reasonably careful.

This is a helpful anecdote - I would definitely prefer the "naked" / minimalist look but at the same time I'd like to avoid darkening for as long as possible. I guess it ultimately depends how sticky one's hands are when using (to @880's point if there is e.g. any soap/moisturiser residue), or how much I value the naked look over H spa $$$

I've debated doing a one-handle wrap to minimise the extra colour and "fussiness" but I think in the long term that might be worse as one handle will be darker than the other.

@ny.lon , it was always my understanding that H spa will not lighten handles or work on the interior. I assume that H will only replace a handle. So this may affect your decision to use twillies or go bare handles. For fun, bargain, Covid era deals, including box, swift, vache naturale, and barenia deals, I’ve had @docride correct suntanning damage; lighten handles; recondition interiors; etc. Darkened handles are a big pet peeve of mine. I do not use twillies. But, unless a bag is epsom. I’ve pretty much stayed away from lighter colors (I did buy my mom a togo 30B craie, but she tells me she uses it sparingly)

I use both @docride Spa and H spa depending on scope of work and amount of customization I desire. While I have personally never had a bag rejected from H Spa, acceptance by H spa is not guaranteed. I agree with the general TPF recommendation that one have no third party professional spa work done if one wishes the best chance that H Spa will accept your bag for service. Since I buy my bags to use and don’t really care about resale, I’m fine with taking the risk. Pls feel free to PM me if you would like other details.

Some of my bags that have had handle color correction outside of H spa. The second and sixth pic are of two different bags: a 35B and a 32HAC (I’m fond of metallic and custom color)

ETA: I believe @papertiger or another member once recommended using grosgrain or other ribbon in the same color as ones handles for a more neutral look, but I haven’t tried this myself
